I have asked this before with no answer. Why is the healing brush all of a sudden lagging like crazy? It is impossible to work like this? PSCC 24.7.5, Windows11 Pro, X64, X670MB, 96G ram, AMD Ryzen 7950X 16-core processor, AMD Radeon 7950XT

Your rig is absolute top-tier (7950X + 7900 XTX is a beast combo), so hardware limits definitely aren't the issue here. High-end AMD setups like yours rarely hit dynamic system bottlenecks on standard PS brush tools unless there's a specific GPU driver conflict or background overhead.

If anyone wants to double-check their hardware performance pairing or system balance for heavy workstation tasks, you can test your setup at this website to check bottleneck.

Otherwise, for this Photoshop bug, trying a clean reinstall of Adrenalin drivers or disabling GPU Acceleration in PS Preferences (Performance tab) usually stops the brush lag

Healing Brush Fix:

  1. Use Alt/Option to set the source.
  2. Work on the correct layer.
  3. Reset brush settings.
  4. Update Photoshop or your system.
  5. Bottleneck issue? Upgrade RAM or GPU.
