They never announce something until they release it. Unless they do. Yea, confusing.

For several years they've called it the "Legacy Titler", ever since the introduction of the Essential Graphics panel workspace and mogrts. They said at the beginning of that rollout that eventually the Titler would be discontinued.

And now that they rolled out a process that can migrate some parts of Titler graphics to mogrts, it looks like they're getting ready to pull the plug on the ol' Titler.

Why? The code is some of the oldest in PrPro, and it doesn't match with nearly any other code in current use. And upgrading it would mean completely rebuilding it. So if they needed to completely rebuild their graphics workspace/structure, they decided to start from scratch with the "new" EGP, that's been out nearly four years now.

At the beginning, the EGP lacked a ton of needed tools, but it's gotten steadily better. Some of the main issues remaining are getting shapes libraries (I can't believe they didn't have that at the start!) and also the ability to use in-project storage of graphics, like the Titler graphics. The CC Libraries are cool for some things, the "managed local folders" for others, but when you have project-specific graphics, it would be best to be able to place those in their appropriate project.
