Hey everyone, I am looking to try and change the color of an image from black to white while still keeping all the detail. Attached you will see what I am trying to accomplish. The white image was already that color, I just used a contrast filter to brighten it up a little. I do not care if any of the buttons change color as well because I have them set on another layer to overlay when I finish the next steps after getting it to be white. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey everyone, I am new to photoshop and I have a method that works fairly well to accomplish what I want but I am interested to see how others would accomplish the same thing or if you guys do the same thing. I want to see if there is a more efficient way or a better way to get the same result. What I am doing is taking an the image below and pasting it into the controller but I want to be able to see all of the lines from the layer below so you get the 3D effect of the controller and it just doesn't look like an image pasted into it. I have provided some files in a dropbox link so you can mess around. There are 2 different images and the PSD file for the controller. Below you will see a final product of what I am looking for. Thanks Dave! That's easier than the way I found to change it to white. I changed the color to black then did a contrast layer to get my color. Sent from my iPhone

I should have mentioned before that there are details in the original image that I need to have show through. In the image below I basically need this to be white but I still want to be able so see all the "depth" lines if that makes sense. the big circle you see around the buttons and dpad, thumbtacks etc

Hey everyone, Im new to photoshop and an trying to do a fill foreground color on an image with its blending mode set to color. I select my color swatch to be white but when I fill it, its more of a dark grey than a bright white. I have changed it to any other color and then filled it and that color works just fine, its just white. Is there something I am doing wrong or does white just turn a dark grey.

I understood all the way up to the fill layer that produces the dark image. I filled it and got the dark image now how do o make it look like your final product with the diamond plate so I can drop the parts layer back over it and get a finished image? Is there a way to be able to keep the "depth" from a layer underneath. I am using the paste into option for the image you see below and I would like to be able to keep those lines that you see around the joysticks, buttons, dpad on the controller so it looks more realistic instead of just pasted into. Is this possible?

I am using the newest version of photoshop on my Mac and when I create a new document size of 852x385 and I try to drag and drop an image the exact same size into the window it shows up extremely small. Now if I right click the image on my desktop and hit open with photoshop it will load the correct size. Any ideas?? Below you will see the image I am talking about. The first one has the image EXTREMELY small in the middle and the other is if I right click and open it in photoshop.
