I am setting up a new Windows 10 desktop PC with a C: SSD for programs and a 2 TB D: HHD for data, to run Photoshop and Bridge 2018. I am a digital collage artist so I do frequent Bridge searches during a project to find just the right background, texture, element, etc. I have about 14,000 images, 30 GB worth, that are multiple keyworded by subject, color, era, size, etc, The Core i7 processor is fast, but I'm wondering if creating a partition on the data drive, exclusively for the images I search in Bridge, will have a noticeable effect on search speeds. Alternatively, I could put the image catalog on the SSD drive (no partition), which would certainly give the fastest search results. However, when the image base eventually grows too large, I would have to move it to the data drive anyway. Would rather start out as I mean to go on, with the most efficient use of the two drives. Thanks for your thoughts!
