How to reproduce this problem in any Illustrator instance: 1. Create clean AI file with A4 page. 2. Place any pixel image (with size ~10 mb) embedded to this page. Save file, it will have size about ~10 mb) 3. Make this image as symbol and remove object from page. 4. Place symbol to page one time. 5. Save file. File size will be, eg, ~10 mb. 6. Now place same symbol to page more 4 times, total will be 5 images on page. 7. Save file and check size - it will be increased to ~50 mb. As result, you will have ai file, containing only 5 copies of one image, with ~50 mb size instead of ~10 mb!

Yes, image is pixel image. But why Illustrator save each copy of same pixel image separately in file, even if all instances are into one symbol?

I already use this file as symbol, but this not help with reducing file size. So I have document, that contains instances of one symbol, that contain embedded image. But every new instance of symbol (link to symbol is kept active) increasing total file size, also in Links panel I see separate file for each symbol instance.

I have very large ai file and need to reduce the size. Is there any ways to understand size of each object (and group of objects) in ai file? Even for embedded files (objects) I can't lookup size, it displays only for linked files, for embedded files all info table is empty.

I have ai file, that contains many copies of same embedded image (i need embedded image, not linked). So I embed into documen only one image, and make many copies of it. That should give you the desired appearance, and the outer part of the Stroke will hide/cover (up) the lack of the outer part of the clipped object(s). But I will have two separate objects and must resize them both, instead of one object, that will be same like now - clipping mask and object with inner stroke above clipping object. But I need to simplify this (resizing crop area with inner stroke) via one operation, because I implementing object style for mass reuse in documents.

Thanks, currently I already have 2 objects, one is clipping path, second is clipping mask stroke (Inside), so this is exactly that you describe. But I need to simplify object (for easier editing) and implement one object to be both: the clipping path, and the inside stroke for clipped area. The question is why Illustrator disappears clipping path stroke, when I set it to inside or outside, and how to solve this without having 2 objects? This is an Illustrator bug?

If I reduce size of clipping path, it will reduce clipping area too, so this not solve the problem.

When I create a clipping mask, I can set stroke color and size for Clipping mask path object and it works well. But I need to set stroke align of my Clipping mask from Center to Inside. Immediately when I change Stroke align to Inside (or Outsize) - it is disappear from object display. How to reproduce in Adobe Illustrator CC 2018: 1. Create Circle inside Rectangle as clipping mask 2. Select Clipping mask Path object (Rectangle) and apply any stroke to them (eg 1pt black) - it shows normally. 3. Change Stroke align to Inside or Outside - it will disappear! 4. Change back Stroke align to Center - it will return! Why this happens and where is the source of this problem? Why Clipping mask stroke works only with Center aligned stroke? How can I force Inside (Outside) stroke for clipping mask stroke? If this is Illustrator bug, maybe some workarounds exists?

I do a fresh Windows 10 install and Adobe Creative Suite on virtual machine, and it reproduce the same problem in new created files (after closing file and open again), so the source of problem seems in Illustrator, not in clipboard extender or other software. Can you recheck the problem and try to reproduce?

Is there different about your install. Do you have any plug ins or a special language install, as I noticed the cyrillic layer and artboard names? I create this file with reproduced problem in fresh clean Adobe install (I already try reinstalling before create this post), so have no plugins installed, only default Adobe setup. Application language is Russian (Cyrillic).

No, this is not only one document, this is just an example created from scratch. The problem repeats for me often with many documents, created in one version of Adobe Illustrator on one computer. It repeats not each time, but randomly. So I want to understand the source of the problem and the solution how to solve it (convert bad Graphics Style to normal) without recreating whole style from scratch.

Every time when I Copy-Paste object with attached Graphics Style, this action creates duplicate of style in Library with incrementing number suffix. How to reproduce this bug in Adobe Illustrator CC 2018: Create any object (eg rectangle), make custom outline (eg Red 2pt). Make new Graphics Style from it via dragging it to Graphics Styles Library list, make the name "Test style". Save this document as .ai (without version downgrade) and close it. Open this document again. Select this object, and ensure that it still have linked graphics style "Test style" Copy it to clipboard and paste into this document. As result, you will see that new pasted object have "Test style 2" instead of reuse already exists "Test style" style. When repeating this actions - we will got more duplicates "Test style 3", "Test style 99", etc. How to prevent creating duplicates of style in library, and reuse the already exists attached style?
