I am finding more and more that fonts are becoming inactive when I reboot my Mac Studio. These are ones installed for use in installed apps - Mac Mail is a prime example, Century Gothic Pro reverts to a generic Times type font. It has got to the stage that I am getting annoyed. The only way to fix it twemporarily is to Launch Creative Cloud anfd then quit it. I used to have more fonts but this changed when Type 1 etc went through the mill, 60% of my fonts down the gurgler. So many Illustrator files made redundant. MacOS Sequoia 15.2 Anyone got a fix/ Frewity

thanks for your help, I'll seartch around until I find something halfway good, or, a simple one page with options. I'm amazed that software developers do not think it fit to create a simple means to create a web page without construction restrictions ie can create marvels in Illustrator and Photoshop yet, those layouts cannot be used as is in a web site without serious limitations. By double clicking it, then Muse tries to open but instead comes up with the error message as shown in the attachments. See fileis LasermounterGo.muse

When I try to open my site with Muse, error code 1 comes up. Do I have to be resigned to the fact that my web sites are doomed and I'll have to find another way? Problem is I have no coding experience, am a designer who thought Muse was a grand option (which it was). From what I have seen there is no alternative? Does DW have a low threshold entry level or is it all bangs and whistles only. Look forward to your suggestions. Regards Ron

Hoping for help here, when I go to File-New- New Document window opens, the recent items page comes up. Is there a way to delete some of them. I only use for pages sizes in metric sizing, A4, 3, 2 and 1 plus the largest 577 x 577cm. If I try to give the size a name in the Preset Details it does not save it to the recent file name. If I try to save the page as an .ait file in the Blank te,plates folder I get a ID - 5000 error Look forward to your reply Ron

I have fixed the issue, I now use Apples Preview as the main pdf viewer and for quick highlighting and text adjustments. Use pdf Expert when I want to do non intrusive editing. Acrobat is now taking a back seat, 3rd row infact. Couldn't believe how Acrobat reacted to comments and highlights made in PDF Expert, opened up with side comment window - annoying beyond belief Regards Ron

Such a good post, I am having the same issues and NOT one response recognises the lunacy of creating an inferior ecosystem over the top of perhaps the best best ecosystem available - Apples. But no, we have versions with the ability to turn off home screen only to be thwarted by an update that. takes it away again. This is my last post below. Don't get me started on cloud. Here we go again, decided to come back to Acrobhat after using PDF Expert for 12 months (because of it's supeior markup tools - now they have copied Acrobats infernal home screen I came back. Nooooo, still no way to get rid of the Home Screen. The only Ecosystem users need is Apples. One of the best app experience I have encountered and thoroughly enjoy is Illustrator. Fully optioned and customiseable. Why can't we have floating window options like Illustrators floating tool bar, layers, characters etc, make all software similar etc. They take up very little screen real estate and make for an uncluttered desktop. Hi Amal Damned Acrobat has reverted again. There must a code error for this to happen. Now, if I reboot and had not shut down acrobat, on startup the damned home window comes up - infuriating, as if I want my desktop to have something that size uninvited. If I click on the Acrobat icon in the doc, the home window comes up. If I click the Acrobat icon in the applications foilder, the home window comes up. If I click on a pdf, the pdf opens as it should. How to get rid of the infernal Home page!!! Using the community link you suggested is unfortunately 4 years and ALL of those upgrades out of date, OK, I found all the items because I think I know what I am doing. Adobe really needs to take stock and appreciate that lots of us are very happy with the MacOS operating system and finder, we do not need Adobe to suggest something else which is a 100 iterations worse than Apples finder system that I have been using since my first NEW MacPlus on which I ran Adobe Illustrator 1.0. Illustrator and Photoshop don't behave like this and there would be hell to pay if they did. Acrobat is a lollipop program that has competitors, I guess Adobe is trying to differentiate itself from those and in the meantime is wrecking what once was a brilliant program to one that caters for everyone. I am using MacPro with MacOS 11.5.2, Acrobat 2021.005.20058. I have the "Show Home screen when all documents are closed checkbox" unchecked and yet, the home screen persists in opening when Acrobat is first launched ie, when I double click a pdf, the homescreen opens, not the pdf file. What is really confronting is this does not happen again on subsequent files. It'sonly after the computer is shutdown and then restarted each day. For the life of me, I cannot understand why Adobe chooses to offer a duplicate file system when it is not required - it is screen clutter for the sake of screen clutter

Hi Peter Thankyou very much, the updates to Illustrator sometimes changes my preferences and it is often a nightmare getting back to where one was. This problem has gone and will forever be embalmed in my head. I tried to search for the ILLUSTRATOR guide on setting up each of the prefernce values - there is nothing. There is the odd video but. they don't cover everything - any ideas w2here there is a step by step explanation for all the check boxes

It's a bit late (20 years) for this to raise it's head but when a rectangle is stroked, the transform size changesd depending on the type of alignment stroke. For instance, using an 0.35mm stroke 200 x200 rectangle, the transform shows dimension with outside alignment 200x200, inside alignment 200.35x200.35, outside alignment 200.7x200.7. When you use the rectangle tool and option click, type in 200x200, the rectangle is 200.35x200.35 if the center aligned stroke is used. This proble is further compounded when you try to align a stroked line (stroke alignment centre is the only option) to a outside alignment stroked rectangle. Look forward to your suggestions Ron

Large canvas - zoom options only go to 4227%, normal canvas is 10x that. Stroke weights are 10x larger and therefore larger than what is standard for AutoCAD, DraftSight etc. Large Canvas is a zoom canvas ie 10x larger and as such is not representative of same size drawings CAD files can have unexpected results due to stroke weights, stroke alignment etc. Altogether, not a great experience for something that could and should be simple

I'm very annoyed with this. The whole point of wanting a larger artboard is to create same size drawings.
In my instance it is for CAD type drawings which will be exported to .dwg or .dxf or similar. Illustrator is very limited when it comes to CAD but as a longtime user of .ai, I don't want or have the time to learn a new discipline (DraftSight, AutoCad etc). Scaling is not a good way to do technical drawings as absolute vfalues are what we working with.
For arty type applications it may not be such an issue, however, stokes and the like can be an issue if you don't remember........Also, don't assume printing on a desktop printer is going to be the end result and the reason for using Illustrator.
CAD type working (houses, machinery design etc) are also all the more difficult when it is affected by stroke weights as these can have nasty results when exporting or saving as .dwg etc.
Are there tools or plugins that allow us to work with CAD accuracy for snap to point, line, alignment etc

Hi Meenakshi Thankyou for your reply MacOS 11.05.1 Acrobat 2021.005.20048 I played around with view/show/hide and fixed the left and right side menus - happy. All I need now is the ability to fully customise the toolbar at the top. If I hide toolbars, the left an right arrows disappear as well. Hiding things one item at a time takes too long, Acrobat is not a very fluid program

I have this check box empty in the preferences, yet, when I click on a file on the first opening of Acrobat (MacOS), the home page opens, not the file I clicked on. This happens when my computer is booted up. Does not happen on subsequent file opening. Also, when the page is opened, Home, Tools and Document labels are on, Home and tools serve no purpose on the menu bar. Tools are also taking up valuable space on the right side of the wiundow where the little opring arrow is more than sufficient. A glitch to be sure. I have put up with the current format for years but now, i am annoyed that the Acrobat interface is so childlike as compared to Adobes other apps - Illustrator etc. Look forward to your help Regards Ron
