And @JHillPhD Already on top of that. I've tried all of that. I PROMISE you. I spent all day yesterday watching different YouTube videos and trying every method people have suggested. I have a Samsung T9 2TB SSD and it's pretty empty other than the Adobe caches and other files that it collects. I've tried it both ways...caches on the SSD and caches on the internal hard drive in the folder next to the project file. Same exact issue.

Hi Nishu, I'm having the same exact issue. This is outrageous! And I've watched every YouTube video possible trying to improve the performance. I even reformatted my computer and placed everything on an SSD except for the actual file. All of this started with the 2025 update and it has been a terrible experience to wait over 45 minutes for a 1.5 second segment of my timeline to render. I am MORE than happy to email you my file to let you test it on your machine. I truly am at my wit's end a this point. Please let me know if this is something you might be able to help with. These are my machine specs: MacBook Pro 2019 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 Radeon Pro Vega 16 4 GB Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 MacOS 15.5 (24F74)

Great question! It looks like he's duplicated the original map, and the underlayer (duplicated map) has different patterns, instead of solid colors. Then there seems to be a track matte that's revealing the new underlying patterned map slowly. Are you still working on this, trying to figure it out? He also has some behind the scenes for creating maps on his Patreon. It's only $2/month. I subbed today to get some insight for a map project I'm working on and saw your post. Hope this helps...

Genius!! This worked for me. But just be sure to select the correct blending mode box that says "Normal". Not the one next to the shape, but the one next to the layer.

I don't really want to post this because it seems so unhelpful, but I was having the same issue after an iOS update. It was working fine before the update. But then when it stopped working, I updated PPro and then restarted my Mac. That's the only thing that worked for me. Might be worth considering if you've just done an update.

I'm extremely disappointed with Illustrator 2019. I've lost so many projects from random crashes. I used to love Adobe for the fact that the products were so strong and reliable. But this Illustrator 2019 build is so terrible. I truly thought it was just my system and I was ready to buy a new MacBook Pro, but it's clearly not a problem on my end. Adobe, you're too big (and expensive) to put out "buggy" products. Please get it together. Sorry to sound salty, but I'm pretty pissed. I just lost an hour of work; I guess I have to go back to the early 2000's where I have to save every 5 minutes....
