Just hoping Adobe is paying attention as well as taking our money, I am still feeling that my E-M10 Mk4 raw images are producing better result in lightroom than the OM-1 Mk2, I've tried Workspace a couple of times and I really hate it! That said I have also had some success with Luminar Neo - it seems much more sympathetic than LR but isn't a complete replacement which is a shame. Come on Adobe get your finger out.

Hi, I am just wondering if anyone has had got any good recommendations for settings that work well for a default import for Om-1 mk2 raw files - I'm not having much luck with settings that give me a comfortable starting point on import & finding results noisy and always having to resort to the enhance/denoise tool so looking for any experience anyone can add. Comparing LR to C1 and OM workspace I cannot replicate the same starting point - see attacched - not a great shot, iso 6400 but equally bad in both & whilst C1 appears to handle noise better it looks like LR has more detail I'm just not quite figuring out how to get the best out of it so simply looking for any tips / experience with the specifc camera processing in LR that peeople might be willing to impart to give me a leg up. Thank you John, absolutely spot on - had a read of the article, went back to my source full size picture and tried a larger area and good results (first try, annoyingly simple having opened eyes!)

2nd time I have tried it and remove doesn't remove, just tried to remove a flower bud from the edge of the photo and been offered two different flower buds. As far as remove goes it lacks remove.

Thanks for raising this, new to om-1 mk2 and surprised how poor the raw processing is in Lightroom so hoping it will get refined quickly!

Thank you for looking - it's an interesting one as Affinity photo at a fraction of the cost produces spot on results in a fraction of the time - hopefully someone at Adobe will make it better going forwards 🙂

Thanks for replying, got lost in my spam folder but done a little more tinkering. I've put the files here : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jvhlzqWtNpXy1msS6j8Os84otZ75cmwk?usp=sharing However, the photos were taken on a tripod and I tried just auto-blend and that worked perfectly - and tried auto-align with various options and sure enough it is auto align that is where there is a problem.

Hi, I am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction please as I cannot get focus stacking in photoshop working as I would expect. I've tried a couple of online articles & steps appear to amount to load images as layers, Edit>>auto-align layers, followed by Edit>>auto-blend layers but I must be missing something....... Have a look at the attached screenshot - the left took < 5 mins in Affinity Photo, the right too around 30 minutes in photoshop (so yes performance is awful too)

Lightroom 6, the old fashioned I paid once version 🙂 If needs must I will try the reinstall but I am rather reluctant as I can always find better things to spend my time on 🙂

I week on and it's back - now on around 37 days so no idea what was / wasn't fixed last week. Another hour with support and a rummage on my PC via remote session and no progress. On around 4.5 hours of time wasted now. This is just ridiculous. Allegedly they will call me back on Thursday when I am working from home so we'll see if that helps, I suspect it wont happen as the last arranged call didnt happen until 3 days after expected. Come on adobe get your software works and train your staff!

Probably yes 🙂 I took a screenshot today but an hour on the phone with Adobe trying to find the illegitimate software it had identified and my machine no longer has adobe reader on it 🙂 The assist from Adobe today felt at least vaguely competent whereas yesterday got nowhere. So all in all the better part of 3 hours, I now have a broken lightroom plugin (it's a victim of the adobe clean up tool they had me run, but it was defunct anyway so will remove) and I am missing software that must be on almost every PC 🙂 Still if it stops the problem I'm happy.

I never mentioned wanting to install lightroom 6. Indeed today the "adobe genuine software integrity service" is back - now stuck in front of everything else - looks like I am on day 30ish of 40 days before disabling - I have no idea what software it thinks it is about to disable though given that I dont have any unlicensed software on my machine but it again a right pain.

I'm sure plenty of people have encountered the Adobe license checker - it runs to check you are indeed running licensed software. I don't have a problem with that - indeed a check at boot time isn't offensive or problematic in my mind - all of my software (does a quick think, yes really all of my software) is legitimate. So why is it that when I am playing games I see that checker flash up a window and disappear again. My machine is under enough strain at the best of times playing modern games but it should not need to be running repeatedly and certainly should not need to be running with a visible window. ...So fool that I am I contacted Adobe support, it looks to me like someone has simply done half a job on the coding and my machine is slow enough to show it up. I am now on over an hour, 6 different agents, 6 repeats of the problem, 6 evidences of no humans, 6 attempts to solve a different problem, I've been asked do I need help downloading Lightroom 5, do I have an accounts problem, why don't I just type the license key in (oh for the love of all things holy if there was a box to do that I would have tried that, anything). It's actually got the the funny stage now - every time there is any indication of hope I get passed to a new "agent". Currently trying to get me to relicense the product just by clicking "license the software" which doesn't exist...oh hang on his shift is ending and I'm being passed to agent number 7. Why am I posting here, to be honest I don't know anymore, I have a suspicion this is the end of the line for lightroom and me but all I know is that adobe support does actually exist and I'm a lot worse off than when they never responded to anything. Agent number 7 transferring me direct to agent number 8 🙂

Just discovered this problem and just demonstrates another reason to not give Adobe more money! Massivley disappointed and it's not like there is a practical upgrade route now that Adobe are forcing their subscription model. If anyone finds a fix or usable workaround please post!

I am losing the will to live......adobe needs to get their finger out, my i7 can happily churn using all cores on Lightroom processing, it needs them but when I am working through adding keywords I gradually get slower and slower performance until I get a non responding lightroom. If I kill lightroom before it becomes terminal my PC continues with no issues. Basic software problems on professional, and not cheap, software really isn't acceptable in this day and age.

thanks Mark / Rob for the responses - seems I've more digging to do, I've also tried replacing effects I want in Lightroom, which isn't so easy - I guess the trick for me is remembering that I took photos in a mode that lightroom doesn't natively handle well and treating them differently to the rest - I think some practice and following your pointers is in order.

This is a massive problem for me - I've spent money on Lightroom so that I can make the most of my decent camera and then discover that anything my camera handles in JPG format (eg the art filters) is buried unless I handle jpg & raw separately which damages the organisational capability of lightroom. This seems a very basic oversight!
