With the additional options available now in Cap2019 for using SVGs, I have a couple of questions. Background: We have a standard template that we use for all our training, and multiple themes to use (mainly for color changes) for the various major apps that we train. Questions: 1. Now that we can edit colors of SVG images within Captivate, can those colors be tied to either a theme or a style to maintain consistency? 2. It doesn't appear that the Copy/Paste Appearance options are available for SVGs - unless I'm missing something. Correct? 3. Is it possible in the creation of the SVGs (using Inkscape or Illustrator) to "lock" layers or parts of an image so that the color of those specific layers/parts can not be edited within Captivate? Thanks!

Has anyone found a way to stop the browser autocomplete dropdown choices from being shown on TEBs in a published project? Preferably by adding the form or input autocomplete attribute to the Captivate publish template, but even manually adding it post-publish to every project would be better than nothing. We're seeing the same issues previously reported where if a user picks an item from the autocomplete choices, the form auto submits, causing a loss of data in the record. Primary browsers are Chrome and IE. Thanks!

With some scripting, you can write the results out to Google Sheets. We do this regularly for a specific group of users who don't have access to our LMS.

The only option other than an actual LMS would be writing out the data to your own internal file or database. You could also write it out to Google Sheets. This would require programming knowledge.

I never said you didn't, but there was an implication that you questioned it. It's great that SCORM Cloud can adapt to this invalid manifest, but other LMSs can't or won't, and in this case, I wouldn't expect them to since the manifest is specifying something that doesn't exist. Workarounds are fine in the interim, and we've already been doing this one for weeks with all existing content to prepare for an LMS transition. Right now, my biggest priority is having a product that works as designed without requiring unnecessary post-processing cleanup work.

If the LMS is following the instructions in the manifest, and those instructions say there should be an MP4 at the root AND an MP4 in /vr, then the LMS is well within it's logic to throw an error. And if the error is thrown during the zip upload process, you can't confirm whether or not the LMS will play the course with only 1 MP4. Regardless, it IS a bug - either by not copying the video to both places (as the manifest it creates would dictate) or the creation of the manifest itself is wrong by creating a root reference which isn't needed.

We are seeing the same behavior with Cap 9.0.2.437 - manifest has 2 entries, but the file is only placed in the /vr folder. (We're in the process of transitioning to an LMS that actually cares about the manifest, so I hadn't noticed the behavior until now.) Rod - I agree that you'd need two instances of the video file, but if Cap knows you're publishing to both, it should put an instance in both locations specified in the manifest that it creates.

Enter the URL into Captivate **with** spaces instead of the %20 encodings. Captivate will do the encoding. As you have it now, Captivate is encoding the % to be %25, then adding the 20.

If you want bookmarking in case the user doesn't finish the course, you can't check Never Send Resume Database. We solve it very simply by adding a button (and appropriate instruction) on the last slide that jumps to the first slide.

No clue. Be careful with Insert > Symbol. It often defaults to a symbol font, like Wingdings, instead of the current font of the paragraph. Only other thought would be to select the text block, change the font to something else (like Times Roman,) then change it back to Arial to confirm that all characters were affected.

By chance, did you copy the text from Word or PowerPoint and paste it into Captivate? If so, they might not be actual simple dashes. Try deleting them and manually typing them in.

Is the changeState method only applicable to the cp object? Can it be used at the child object level, like cp.myShape.changeState("oldstate","newstate") ? If not, it would seem that the object model is making a huge assumption that no 2 states would ever be named the same.

One thing I've often seen with indentions missing (especially in bulleted lists) after the import is when there's a mix of indented/bulleted lines and non-indented/bulleted lines in the same text block - especially if the block starts with non-indented/bulleted lines. The only solution I've found is to break the block into multiple blocks before importing. It's a pain, but it works.
