Encore and Windows 11

Howdy Adobe technophiles! My news is: I have installed Adobe Encore on my HEDT running Windows 11! However, it seems I have to log in everytime I want to use it, but that is fine with me, at least it works. I just put together a Blu Ray disc in the Encore software, then made an ISO file with it, and when I get some more discs, I will burn it to the optical media. When I upgraded to Win 11 back in early July 2024, I could not for the life of me figure out how to get Encore to work on it... I had it working on Win 10 just fine, but had a heap of difficulty getting it to load with Win 11. Searched the forums, as well as other sites to see if anyone else had it working and I could not find anything that provided a pathway to do so, with most folks basically giving up and telling poor saps like me to get over it, find something else, after all it has been a decade plus since Adobe abandoned its customers/suckers who have the audacity to continue making physical media. Well IMHO there is nothing else like Encore anywhere, at all, unless you want to spend thousands of dollars buying professional authoring software reserved for commercial big budget productions. I have in my Adobe account a registered version of CS6 Production Suite with its accompany-ing serial #. I downloaded it back in July but could not get it to run, it would fail, throw an error code (which others have encountered too). Today however, I persevered, hunted down the encore.exe file in the production folder, ran it as an administrator, logged 3 times into my account then it finally validated (I looked like the proverbial stunned mullett), and was able to install it...yesssssss VOILA! So it can be done, assuming you have a registered version of CS6 on your Adobe account with the serial #. I added a screen shot to show that I indeed have it running. Don't give up hope! Very sorry now that I purchased Power2Go 13 from Cyberlink, lacking custom menus is a real deal killer for me plus it is very hard to get files rendered from Premiere to work in that software. Soldier on as it does work despite what others may have written regarding this subject.

Not sure if this is still an issue for you, however, you can edit in PP CC and export that media to ENCORE (which comes with PP C6 package) to burn as a DVD as long as you understand the workflow and do it correctly.

That will be a nice computer. I would add that indeed 1TB for all media, will get maxed out quickly in my experience. My current set up has all WD Black 7200 rpm drives and works fine, 1TB just for audio, 1TB for images and videos which is very weak but I will be replacing it with 6TB WD Black in a new build soon. I offload a lot to my backup drives in the meantime. I use a 2TB for renders and ISO files, 2TB for project files, menus, other odds and ends. My OS and apps are on a WD Velociraptor 300GB. I am building a new computer in the next year as this is all getting rather old. This set up has been good for the last few years but is clearly a dinosaur. However, I can still burn beautiful HD Blu-Ray discs (90 of em' so far) that upscale well to 4k OLED screen. The next build will include a 1TB SSD for OS, apps and a 1TB 960 EVO NVMe drive being discussed here in the same way. I'll keep my legacy drives until they drop. Everything is backed up to a 24 TB QNAP NAS (twice). While sluggish at times I've burned over 130 DVDs as well as the above mention BDRs. Look forward to sharing the build with other PP NLE aficionados as I enter the world of 4K. Cheers

Wow, sorry to hear about all these issues others are/were having especially the workflow disruptions (though now a lot of this thread is rather stale). However, I thought I would throw my 2 cents in anyway as I am burning some discs from .ISO files and have some time. In my case, before migrating to the CC subscription I already had the CS6 master suite and had been authoring scores of DVDs in that then moved onto Blu-Ray discs. When I did migrate, I did my homework first and kept the CS6 versions of Premiere Pro and Encore on my computer but started to edit video with the newer CC versions of PP. Now I am using PP CC 2017 and exporting my HD 1080p footage (PAL 25 fps) pre-rendered into Encore CS6 and have zero problems (once I got all my settings worked out just right). I always burn to Verbatim BD-REs first, watch them in their entirety and make sure all is good. Once I am satisfied that I have made no egregious errors (spelling in titles, inadvertently leaving a gap between clips, messing up the pop-up menus, chapters, end actions etc.) then and only then do I burn them to Verbatim BD-Rs from the .ISO file I always make of each disc. I have done this now for nearly 50 Blu-Ray discs and accompanied each with an .ISO file archived. Though I cannot quite recall when an upgrade appeared in my CC app update window and I did "update" the Media Encoder app too and noticed the opening picture updated, as well as adding quite a few more choices for export/output settings. Yay, no problems with any of that still. But Encore remains the same old CS6 version. The Blu-Ray discs I continue to author play beautifully on my Sony BDP-s790 and it upscales them to 4K on my LG 55" OLED screen (Awesome). The next challenge is coming however as I now have a Sony A6500 camera that shoots in 4K... Probably going to need a new computer and use some of those big ass Blu-Ray discs. My methodical workflow will I suspect be greatly disrupted and I will probably be hitting the forums for some tips! C'est la vie
