When you told me to move the backups off my hard disk - does that just mean to move the entire Backups folder onto an external drive (like the same SSD that I'm planning to move all my RAW files to)? By @JuliaGuo Yes, move the entire folder to a different disk than the disk where the working catalog is stored. But also, don't allow LrC to put future backups on the internal disk. Tell LrC to put future backups on the external drive. When the backup dialog box appears, set the drive and folder for backups here: Also, how about the .lrdata files, the files that have -v13 in them, and the "Old Lightroom Catalogs" folder? What purpose do those serve and can they be deleted from my disk? The .lrdata files are part of the method of storing AI and masking results. These are required by LrC. The "Old Lightroom Catalogs" are exactly what it says, old catalogs. If you feel there is benefit to keeping this as extra security, then keep them. If you don't feel a benefit, then you can delete them.
