Hello, I am trying to print a large image in segments, so I have selected "Do Not Scale." The preview window on shows only a portion of what should be visible (picture below). I have tried this on two different printers, and also as a pdf: always the same thing. If I try to print it as "Fit to Page" the entire image is visible. I haven't yet figured out a way to pirnt that way and manually scale it up, or I would...

I found out how to disable the driver in Device Manager. First I tried disabling the (updated) Intel processor, and that was sort of a disaster, so I enabled it again and disabled the Nvidia one, and it now works fine, depressingly (since I paid extra for the Nvidia). At least, Photoshop opens without the error message, and the 4K screen images look sharp. So I guess the 2022 Nvidia driver update isn't such a great update after all. And I think I'm good to go. Ah, I'll try disabling it, thank you. Updating the Intel processor didn't work, maybe the Nvidia one was overriding it. Can you tell me the best way to disable it, other rhan uninstalling it?

Thank you for answering. I've tried many times to disable my GPU, but here is a screenshot (actually, a phone pic since the omputer froze) of what I get, below. I'd been using this computer with PS, Illustrator, and Sketchup with no problems until about a year ago, so this issue of dual GPUs makes no sense to me. And as you can see, there isn't a way to disable the GPU, at least that I can see. I've tried several times with the same result (to reference Einstein).

Hello, I've looked through all the previous posts for this isuue, and they don't seem to apply. I pulled my Dell XPS 1550 out after 8 months because I had an unexpected trip out of the country (US) for a death in the family. I updated all the firmware and software. The graphics card is a GeForce; I went to the NVidia site to download a fresh driver. The studio version would not install but the gaming version did. Photoshop is still crashing most of the time, but when it does actually open I keep getting the same compatibility error (even after lots of re-boots). I've tried downloading an older version of Photoshop because I know it used to work with my graphics card...but not anymore. For the record, I have 41% of my hard drive space free. I'm under a tight deadline and, as I said, out of the country due to a death in my family. So I'm a bit desperate here, and I hope someone is familiar with the problem, since none of the solutions I've found work for me. Thanks in advance.

Thank you, so much for answeint me, @D Fosse and @Jain Lemos. I'm working in 8 bits/channel. And I noticed the mode was "Multichannel" (from a screenshot that I edited) in that same File->Mode menu when I went to check the bits per channel. I changed the mode to "RGB" from "Multichannel" and everything works fine! So thank you, @D Fosse, for asking about the bits/channel, because otherwise I never would have noticed the right problem! Am I nuts to think that's a weird quirk?

Hello, I have Photoshop 22.4, and for a while now there was a "Save a Copy" box to the right, which would allow me to save jpgs, pngs, etc. It seems to have disappeared, and there is now a bunch of boxes to check right below the file names, including "Save a Copy," which, when I check it off, doesn't give me any more format options than the same four that I don't need. When I go to File-> Save a Copy, I get the same thing, i.e., only four choices, none of which I need. When I go to Preferences-> File Handling-> Enable Legacy "Save As" I get the same thing. I've read all the posts about other people's "Save As" issues, but all of the solutions seem to be in the list I gave above, that don't work for me. Amazing how many hours I can spend just trying to do what I used to do in litereally 5 seconds. Wonders of omputers.

You can also open the image in Lightroom. Their "Save As..." has the option for file size in MB if you scroll down.

Thank you, Steve. I spent some time on an Adobe chat to try to resolve this, and the rep did a remote session and fixed it. What I had to do was go into the Task Manager and CPU details and stop the installer process. When I had been there the Task Manager had said that it was taking up 0% so I had assumed it wasn't running. Once he closed it I was good to go. But, embarrassingly enough, I couldn't figure out how to delete this question. If you can tell me how I can do that, unless you think the procedure that the rep used would be helpful to someone else. I am installing CC on a new Windows 10 computer, and every time I try to download Acrobat Pro DC I get an error message saying that I need to shut down Word. Problem is, I'm not running Word. I've rebooted and tried it and still get the error message, "Conflict Installing Acrobat DC. Please save your work and close the following programs for all logged in users, then click Continue....-Microsoft Word."

Windows seems to have figured this out now (a year later then when I posted this.
But...get this... I tried switching back to Mac with an outrageously priced desktop, and the font scaling is non-existent. After a long time on the phone they told me that the Mac OS is "performing as expected," and that if I wanted to read the fonts I had to lower the resolution. This is Mac, known for graphics applications. Happily I had one more day to return it but I wasn't risking it. I packed it up, grabbed my coat, drove to the Apple store and got there 20 min before closing. Dell sucks, but at least I can get another brand.

May I point out that the shift key works as a constraint for other things, such as the move tool, rotate tool, transformation with the distort, etc? It even works in Microsoft Word when you insert a jpg and move it. The inconsistency drove me crazy as I'm sure it does others. I'm fine now because I wised up and I went back to v19.

Holy cow, was it THAT difficult to just hold down the Shift key? It's now a mess. I've just uninstalled 20 and gone back to 19. I'm wondering how I will know if Adobe will fix all the bugs without my having to check here constantly. Given the comments on another thread about filters crashing PS and completely losing files even after saving them beforehand, there's no way I'm going to risk going back to 20. Maybe do a version 21 after everything is fixed...while testing to make sure new, improved miserable bugs don't appear? Adobe CC is NOT cheap, BTW.

Wait! It started working again as suddenly as it stopped! Im guessing this is a Windows update problem. It started deleting files (not putting them in the recycling bin) before I guess they fixed that problem. A few days ago I had to spend an hour and a half on the phone with Dell to get my studio computer working properly. I said that update was a disaster and he said something to the effect of "believe me, I know." I hate Apple but I'm thinking of going back to it. Anyway, thank you, Bill and Monika, so very much!

I need to distribute objects, and Align is not a new tool for me. But suddenly it doesn't work. The options row of the panel is set to Selection I've set up a new workspace I've tried ungrouping the objects--nope, and grouping them--nope. I've gone to the Preferences, and there was nothing there that could help. I opened and closed Illustrator. I've re-booted the computer. I've downloaded another version from the cloud. None of this works. I'm going to have to do this by hand. Ugh. Hope someone knows the answer to the problem before I finish...

Thank you, Kurt. I was using CC 2018, and then tried going back to 2017 because of the problem. And I've checked all those many, many times. I've tried selecting the object, then not selecting the object and enlarging it too 64,000, than changing layers, and then moving the object to a different layer, and then repeating this whole sequence. Sometimes closing the file and re-opening it solves the problem, but most times it does not.

I am trying to add guides to mark a rectangle. Illustrator will allow some, but then it refuses to add anymore. I have tried locking, unlocking, hiding, showing, and closing the file and re-opening. I can "make guides, but that doesn't help when I'm placing objects over it. Does anyone have a magic answer?

Opening the Canon Utility to get to its driver is what I've been doing, but it's a royal pain when I have a lot of scans. From all the answers so far from all of you very generous people here, it appears that I have two options: - use the Canon utility, save the file, and then open in Photoshop, or - use Vuescan. Will VueScan override Canon's driver in other applications, such as Word? Or is it so much better that I shouldn't care? I would have thought that Adobe would have moved Windows users past what I used to do with my first scanner in the 90s. 32 bit or 64 bit, this has never been an issue with Mac. Adobe has neglected to deal with this for the largest operating system in the world. (OK, I'm done bitching. At least for now. ) I deeply appreciate everyone's answers.

Trevor Davis, do you happen to know why I can't change the settings in WIA? And what do you do? Open the printer utility to scan and then open in Photoshop? Like I did in 1996? I have Windows 10, and when I try to import an image the only option is to use Windows' WIA (Windows Imaging Application). Photoshop will not recognize my Canon scanner. Upon googling I have learned that this is not an uncommon problem. The WIA dialogue box is beyond horrific and it is crazy difficult to even find settings except for 300ppi in BITMAP format. Changing the default to 600ppi and .tiff or .jpg? Not a prayer. Both Canon and Microsoft have told me that Adobe has intentionally set it's default preferences this way, and only Adobe can change them. The Canon guys told me that Adobe does this to protect itself from piracy. It would be nice if Adobe could do something about this. It would be even nicer if there were links to chat technical support (I wouldn't dare try a phone call). The ones in the Support section literally bounce back and forth between two pages. I've spent hours and hours on the phone and in chats with Canon and Microsoft. Somehow, they have technical support. Adobe? Nah, it just pretends to.

I fixed it on my computer, Windows now has a built-in way to handle it: 1. Right-click on the Photoshop icon 2. Right-click on the next Photoshop icon (at the top of the menu), and select "Properties" 3. Select "Compatibility" tab 4. In the Settings section check the "Override high DPI scaling Behavior. Scaling performed by [Application] 5. Apply and OK Hope this is helpful. Let me know.

Yes, Windows 10 has now built this option in. It only worked for me once I figured out how to get to the Photoshop Properties dialog box, which isn't too obvious. It works for any application on the machine, BTW. Here's how to do it: -Right-click on application icon -Then right-click on the icon you'll see (one of three options) and click on the third one, Properties.Go to the Compatibility tab

Thank you both, but I couldn't create the manifest file in the registry, because the subfolder specified in the instructions didn't exist. HOWEVER, I did finally figure it out, glory be. 1. Create a shortcut icon on your taskbar if you don't already have one. 2. Right-click on the icon,and you will see: - the Photoshop icon -Unpin from Taskbar Window -Close 3. Hover the mouse over the Photoshop icon and right-click again, and the "Properties" option will be at the bottom 4. A dialog box will open, and under "Settings" is an option to "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:" 5. Check it. You don't have to specify the application because you already did by using the Photoshop icon.
