Not saying this is the case here, but sometimes it gets caught in a loop where it continuosly tries to recreate the file that is causing the issue. So it just crashes regardless if what you try to open.  You just need to make sure you get to the point where InCopy is running without a document open. What happens if you go to the preferences, without a file open, and go to Track Changes and turn off all the markings for added/deleted text? That seems to be the cause of the crash from what I've been able to determine. ... View more

Experienced users, and especially people who have worked with a lot of Adobe applications (namely InDesign and Photoshop) have no issues with the shortcuts and zoom tool. However, new users who come from the world of Microsoft Office have a harder time with it. From what I've seen through the years they really prefer just to select a percentage so they know what is going to happen to the size of things and can base there decision on what they want to do. Using the magnifying glass isn't as intuitive and requires switching tools - and they unfortunately aren't going to be aware of the shortcuts. The footnote formatting options are found under the "Type" menu in InCopy - note that they are based on existing character/paragraph styles which must be defined with InDesign. Perhaps a silly question, but is this PDF online somewhere or is stored locally on your computer? Users won't be able to access it if it is not online - which may explain why only you can open it. It you place it someplace online you can use the "URL" option rather than "File" in the hyperlinks panel and link directly to the PDF. ... View more
