Ah right of course, this makes total sense! I was thinking in terms of time but the values of a path are obviously complex with all the points and handles. But your solution does simplify it down to time, so it's perfect, thanks again!

Thank you! Just what I needed, not sure why linear doesn't like dealing with path values.. but good work around!

Just in case anyone is here looking for the solution and skimmed over Steve Griffiths's answer, adding a Transform effect *before* the track matte key effect will allow you to chance scale independently - But if you want to change position, as I did (for like a pan-behind ability) you'll instead want to add an Offset effect before the track matte key effect, and change the Shift Center To property. (and if you want to change both scale and position you'll need both effects) No nesting required for these.

So I did find a workaround of sorts... if you set the feather to 0px AND turn off Anti-alias, the warning doesn't come up. Granted, you may be wanting one of those on, but this is all I found to work.

Hello! I use a "dark mode" in Windows 10 using the High Contrast color settings in the WIndows Personalization settings. This makes many programs dark just by making window background panes dark. But it seems as though there are only a few sparse areas that XD doesn't have covered with white. (as seen in image) Is there any way to utilize a dark mode in XD, or planned to happen, OR a simple enough way to change it through the developer console? I'll be designing mockups with dark background in XD, and I'd love to have a dark workspace as well. Thanks for any help!
