I have a Canon IP8750 inkjet printer. When I adjust a image in LR and then go to the print module nothing happens, no printing no nothing. If I then go to edit the image in Photoshop it will then print. Canon tech. have sent me various emails on what to do but nothing works (in LR), I have uninstalled my printer and reinstalled it numerous times but I still cannot get the printer to print from LR. I have also uninstalled LR and reinstalled it. I get the error message "Filter failed" in the printing list.

Photoshop opens normaly but then a box appears telling me that my "Trial" has expired, I click on this and then Photoshop closes down even though I have paid my mthly suscription.
How do I get over this.

I too am having problems with the spinning beach ball but in Elements 19. I have carried out the above ,turning off auto-analysis. I also have ver.17. Unfortunately for me I have bought the program, so it's either dl some other program or keep putting up with the spinning ball, which I am not prepared to do. Totally fed up with Adobe releasing such a program with these faults.

Thank you for your explanation, however you have lost me as I do not understand half of what you are saying, so I will mark your answer as correct. As I have copied my images from LR to Elements I want to drop LR and just use Elements, so I will need a backup from Elements.

I have recently bought Photoshop Elements. I have transferred my images from LR into Elements, I have carried out a backup to external HD and the files have backed up as XMI files. I cannot open XMI files from the backup location. Help please - what have I done wrong.

Yes they do have a ! in the top right hand corner of the photo, so I guess that is the end of them as I have deleted then off my CF card.

Thanks for all your help, I am now beginning to see the light. However I have found where the photo's are (pictures>LR) the problem facing me now is that there are 13 photo's missing in the folder but they are showing in LR.

So what you are saying is that when I import my photo's from my CF card to my mac I should then back them up to my Seagate drive, but when the CF card is loaded the photo's automatically are showing in LR. Sorry for my ignorance on this, but if they are in LR are you saying they are somewhere else on my mac. Perhaps you would be kind enough to detail me exactly how to do the backup. Thanks.
