I wish Adobe would remove dated and erroneous information such as this. Changing the extension on the file does not work in the current versions of PP. I'm still having trouble importing .mov files, it loads 1 file into the timeline but no more. Only in a new sequence will the video appear, otherwise only audio. I have updated Quicktime and installed the latest codecs. It was possible until recently to seamlessly import these files but something changed. If this problem isn't solved I will be forced to use other software for editing. GM

These answers do not solve the problem. I suspect it is a codec issue. I tried loading Quicktime player as suggested that has also not worked.

Hi Kevin, I'm using 14.7 again after reverting back since video wouldn't load in 14.8 as I reported before. I checked all the drivers and they are up to date, in fact checked twice. The new update still has the same problem so this doesn't appear to be the problem. Has there been any progress in a solution to this, I don't seem to be the only one with this issue. NVIDIA is a pain but that's what Dell provides. Why make users change drivers which will likely have other unintended consequences?

Premiere won't load video: Error:Frame substitution recursion attempt aborting after multiple attempts on file. The path is correct. This is keeping me from working on my project and it needs to be resolved ASAP. I will now try to load the project in a previous version. Very disappointing. Clearly insufficient testing of this 14.9 Build 9 to blame I'd say.

I am unable to burn a DVD from Premiere CC also but when I installed Premiere Pro C6 from the cloud my newer files edited on CC will not load into the older software. I don't understand why users should have to jump through a thousand hoops do do something that was very efficient in the older version? So much for progress. Adobe has no real support and all the community responses are years old so why hasn't this been fixed?
