Thanks again Gene!  I'm relieved to be able to access all of my files again! With respect to moving my question to another forum, I don't think that's a good idea.  Photoshop Touch is now ancient history and I cant be the only Photoshop user who has .psdx files mixed in with .psd files on their Creative Cloud drive.  When those users do try to open their files they will not be using PSTouch because it doesn't exist anymore; they will most likely be using full Photoshop and they are more likely to use this forum to find a solution.  I think that this information is surprisingly hard to find.  General internet searches did not get me anywhere close to this solution. I still feel that these files should just work!  I respect that Adobe may want to abandon the .psdx file format altogether, but why not provide a tool that allows all of my .psdx files to automatically convert to .psd files?  I make communication software for children who cannot speak; I believe that this work is important!  I made over one thousand images that were saved in .psdx format.  Needless to say I trusted that the Adobe would make sure that my files remain compatible with future systems.  I was sad that after PSTouch went away none of the mobile Adobe apps were even capable of opening my .psdx files.  I remain worried about the integrity of my assets going forward..         ... Thank you gener7!! The plugin requires manual placement in the program file system.  The instructions stop at Windows 8 and OS 10.7; in Windows 10 and Photoshop 2018 the file systems are apparently different so that the pathway indicated in the install instructions is not available:  "Location for the plug-in Windows 7, Windows 8 (32-bit version) C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC\Plug-ins\File Formats (64-bit version) C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Files Formats For Mac OS X 10.7 or later (only 64 bit) Mac HD/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC/Plug-ins/File Formats" Where does the plugin go on modern systems?  Is this plugin still compatible? ...
