So even though it says backup, it's not really a backup?!? Oh well, I guess I'll have to recreate the files. Sure does not give me a very confident feeling moving forward though. If there were recovered files in that folder, what would they look like? Yes I use Time machine but I only backup once a day so those hours of work are gone. Okay, so now I finally found the folder (thanks), though I still don't understand why a keyword search did not help me in the finder. Inside the InDesign Recovery folder are 3 files named: DBTmp, DBSharingShield, and RecoveryData (with the word "Backup" on the icon). While this looks promising, I am unable to open the file. When I try to open it I get this message "Cannot open the file "RecoveryData". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application." Now what? Thanks for this link, Recover InDesign documents  I did look at this page yesterday and tried to find my files, but the peculiar thing is that I cannot find an InDesign Recovery Folder anywhere on my computer. I searched for the following words in the finder and got nothing. "Recovery" "Recovered files" "Recovery folder" "dbt" and nothing. Note: this was not a system crash, just a program crash. I'm on a Mac OS 10.10.5, InDesign version CC. Also, I'm sure I had saved the file and yet upon re-starting, I only have the 3.5 hours old version. I've never had this happen. I'm hoping I can recover the file but I don't know where to look? ... It seemed to me, by stating the same response, over and over, the you failed to address that issue or whether there were any workarounds that we might not be aware of. Here's my inquiry: Let's say I'm doing a magazine feature, or an annual report, and I want to use a brush stroke border for multiple text and photo boxes within that document that are all different sizes and shapes. Yet I want all of the borders to be the exact same thickness for all of the different box shapes and sizes. This would be a ton of work to have to create each box in illustrator and import  each one into In Design. It would be so much more efficient if I could choose (or import) a brushstroke option within indesign, specify color and point size and apply it to all my various boxes in one fell swoop. I know this is a really old thread, yet here I sit with the same issues in InDesign that the poster mentioned. Over and over, You failed to address the user's point about having to edit the original border over and over in Illustrator and import into InDesign. It would be nice if InDesign updated it's border palette to include a greater variety of textures. It would make it so much easier on the designers. So, according to the thread mentioned above... There is no feature within Illustrator to tell us the closest match to a pantone formula color from a cmyk swatch. We have to go on a time-consuming, round-about scavenger hunt between our swatch panels, pen & paper, and a pantone swatchbook that shows both the formula & cmyk color equivalents. Thanks for nothing. I surely thought Illustrator would have such a feature similar to how it gives you the closest web color in the color picker. Even Photoshop has a feature in the color picker to choose the closest Pantone color. C'mon Adobe, how about giving us print designers' a break? Considering that most logo designs are produced in Illustrator, and many clients require Pantone color callouts for their style guidelines and it's necessary for registering a trademark to specify pantone colors of a logo.
