Using the Account Menu in After Effects

Rolling out now in the After Effects Beta, starting with CCD Beta build 27.0.049

After Effects now includes the Account Menu -- the same account panel you already use in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro. Click your account icon in the toolbar or on the Home screen, and the Account Menu panel opens to display the information relevant to your account.

If you move between Creative Cloud apps, the menu looks and behaves exactly as it does everywhere else and now the experience will be consistent across our suite of applications.

Well that’s certainly something no user asked for, but probably came from High Up Above since AE will undoubtedly start adding AI stuff that will use credits?

After Effects serves a wide range of workflows, and the aim is to try work for all of them without getting in anyone's way. The account menu itself isn't an AI thing and it's the same panel that's been in our other CC apps for a while and this effort was to drive towards consistency. It allows you to see which account you have signed in from, check your plan, and get to your account settings quickly.

You're right that AI assisted and AI driven generative features are making their way into AE too but they're entirely optional. We aim to be thoughtful while building them but if you never touch them, the menu will serve to just be quick access to your account. And for the users who do use them, having your credit balance visible in the same place is there for transparency, so it doesn't catche you off guard etc.

Appreciate you engaging and providing us the feedback! :)
