  • Live Captions are now supported.

  • Drop Caps use improved styling for better screen reader compatibility.

  • SVGs can retain vector quality and accessibility metadata during export.

More enhancements coming soon!

Align to Bleed

Now align and distribute objects relative to the bleed area for precise edge-to-edge layouts—ideal for print-ready designs.

Hello- I have CS5 installed on my desktop but really only use Indesign, Photoshop and acrobat occasionally. I'm looking to get a new laptop and not sure what to get relative to using those three programs. Is there an updated version I can get online? How do I get a reasonable price without buying a whole new suite? Any advice? I'm getting too old and technology is outpacing me!

It's not opening for me either. I've tried to install and uninstall. I'm on Sequoia 15.5. I'm not sure what's happening. Is it working for you now?

    Hi @Sylvie32668149nsqr,

I'm really sorry to hear about the constant freezes. I know how frustrating that can be. Could you please confirm which operating system version you're using and if this is happening with all files or only certain ones? Also, let me know if InDesign freezes right after launching or only after specific actions.

In the meantime, please try resetting InDesign preferences (you can check the steps here: https://adobe.ly/4nVuHpo). Make sure to back up your preferences before resetting.

It would also be helpful to test the issue in Safe Mode and in a new admin local user account to see if it is system-specific or user-account-specific. You can find steps here:
    https://adobe.ly/44TDi49
    https://adobe.ly/3In18wz

If possible, please share your observations and a quick screen recording showing what happens.

    Looking forward to your update!

    Bonjour Abhishek,

    Notre configuration :

    Édition Windows 11 Professionnel / Version 23H2 / Installé le ‎24/‎02/‎2025
Build du système d’exploitation 22631.4169 / Expérience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1034.0

    Processor : AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 7840U w/ Radeon 780M Graphics 3.30 GHz

I'd like to report that Indesign will always start in CPU-preview-mode. Its a bit annoying to have to swich to GPU-preview-mode each time. (20.4, Windows, German, Geforce-GTX4080 with latest official NVIDIA Driver)

We still can't sync parent pages across books, because doing so breaks all the "primary" text frames (it de-flags them as primary). How about fixing that? This defect means that any changes to parent pages in a book must be made manually in every file.

Another bug: Book-syncing does not correctly handle style-renaming. If you rename a style in the "style source" document and then sync your book, it adds new (redundant) styles to every book instead of applying the rename. Then you have to manually open every file, one at a time, and delete the un-renamed styles.

The fact is that there should be an option to store styles and parent pages at the book level, not in individual chapter files. Maintaining consistent styles and layouts is one of the primary reasons to create a "book" in the first place. So why is it a fussy, defect-prone afterthought in InDesign?

Also, the UXP Developer Tools are broken and unusable, because the editor doesn't save your code. It pretends to do so, but when you look at it on disk you see that your changes are not saved. Your work is also lost when you close the tool or ID crashes. Come on, guys.

Note to all: InDesign 20.4 apparently is breaking a lot of CEP extensions. This includes CEP extensions from third parties and Adobe's own standard CEP extensions. The only known workaround at the moment is to downgrade to 20.0.

    Hi @RorohikoKris,

Thanks for flagging this. Our product team has addressed the issue in the latest InDesign 20.4.1 update. When you get a chance, please give it a try and let us know if you're still running into any problems.

    Appreciate your patience!
