AI Assistant is now available in additional languages with InDesign 21.6 (Beta)

InDesign Beta 21.6.0.23 is now live.

What's new in this update

We are excited to bring AI Assistant to more creators around the world and make it easier to work in the language you use every day. In addition to English, you can now use AI Assistant in the following languages:

• Czech, Danish, German, Spanish, Spanish (Mexico), Finnish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Dutch, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Swedish, and Turkish.

How it works

AI Assistant transforms creative intent into action through a natural, conversational workflow:

• Describe what you want to accomplish. Use everyday language to tell the assistant what you need—apply localized copy across open documents, check a 100-page catalog for print readiness, and more.
• Let the assistant plan and act. It understands your request in the context of your document, determines the appropriate steps, and carries them out—asking for clarification when needed.
• Review and refine with confidence. Actions are transparent and reversible through InDesign’s native history. Review, adjust, accept, or undo changes at any point.

How to try it

1. Open the Creative Cloud desktop app and go to Apps > Beta.
2. Download or update to InDesign (Beta), version 21.6. For more information on how to update the app, click here. 
3. Once you open InDesign Beta, find the AI Assistant panel in the top bar (next to the Share button), in the contextual taskbar, or via File > AI Assistant.

Key capabilities

• Context-aware guidance, right where you work. Get clear, relevant answers without leaving your document.
• Set up document structure with a prompt. Define grids, adjust margins, add page numbers, and align objects simply by describing the result you want.
• Handle multistep workflows while staying in control. Update typography, apply effects, resize objects, and manage colors and swatches across your document with a single prompt. Review and refine the results before finalizing your work.
