What's New in Photoshop Beta

This month's Photoshop Beta update brings two new ways to work in Prompt to Edit, Markup and Dynamic Layer, higher-resolution generation, and stronger Content Credentials, along with fixes across selections, Cloud Documents, and file handling.

New Features

Markup in Prompt to Edit

Draw directly on your image inside Prompt to Edit: select areas to recolor, add text annotations, or brush in rough shapes for size and position, then generate. In this beta, Markup works with Gemini models. View Post.

Dynamic Layer in Prompt to Edit

Use a slider to move through a series of generated edits, from the original image to the result, instead of re-prompting. View Post.

Higher-resolution generation with Gemini models

Generate at up to 4K resolution with supported Gemini models for sharper, more detailed results.

Content Credentials for Firefly-generated images

Images generated with Firefly are now signed with Content Credentials using production infrastructure, so authenticity data is applied reliably.

Bug Fixes

Prompt to Edit

• Fixed Dynamic Layer thumbnails showing as transparent until the slider was moved, and generation timing out in some cases.
• Fixed Markup annotations staying on screen and not clearing when cancelled.

Adjustments

• Fixed the Histogram not appearing on the first image of a session, and Curves points deselecting when switching channels.

Selections

• Fixed a subtract-selection acting as an add-selection on grayscale images, and a hang when using the Object Selection tool.

Files and Cloud Documents

• Fixed Cloud Documents not creating conflict copies, files missing after a folder was restored, and thumbnails not refreshing after edits.
• [Windows] Fixed a program error when saving 32-bit documents to PDF.

Content Credentials

• Fixed Content Credentials data being lost on undo, when going offline during a save or export, and when signing files with Japanese filenames.

Other

• Fixed crashes when changing the gradient angle in the Frame tool's gradient fill dialog.
