Meet Photoshop's AI Assisted Editor (Beta) : Edit Images with Simple Prompts in Photoshop 27.10

There are a couple things I really like about this new feature: 1) It brings together in one place the most useful of Photoshop’s generative AI features so they are easier to find; and 2) It is an easier way for new users to start using generative AI.

There are also a few things (mostly superficial) that I suggest changing:
a) The current buttons labeled AI Assisted and Pro Editor are relatively large and take up lots of room in the first position in the Options bar. This disrupts well-established muscle movements when using the Options bar. I keep reaching up to the Options bar and landing in the wrong place, because everything else has moved to the right. This adds time and some frustration to using many tools. So please make those buttons smaller and move them somewhere else.
b) I also think the names of the two buttons are not ideal. “AI Assisted” is pretty obtuse. Why not call it what it is; perhaps something like “Gen AI Tools”. And “Pro Editor” sounds like something new (although it is simply the regular Photoshop interface we’ve all known and used forever), and I think the word “Pro” could scare away many users.

Just my 2 cents. 

This sounds like a total game-changer! The seamless switch between AI Assisted and Pro Editor with layer retention is definitely the best feature. Can't wait to test out the Markup and Fill tools on my current🎨✨ projects! Thanks for the update!..

It’s such a big step in a new direction, I found it all less intuitive than most new Photoshop features.  If you feel that a heads up on how the different new functions work, Adobe Live uploaded a useful video yesterday.  I certainly found it helpful.

I completely agree with your point, and I’d like to add that this is an important topic worth discussing further.

This looks like a really useful direction for Photoshop. Being able to describe an edit in natural language while still keeping the traditional tools available could make quick adjustments much faster. I’m especially interested to see how well the Remove and Expand features handle more complex images. Looking forward to trying it.
