Just a shame that the other basic functions have been affected making the update worthless till a fix is in place - now been over a month waiting for the fix

    Hi @Laurent38439810k3ve,

I understand the frustration, especially if you’re running into an issue that is affecting your normal workflow.

If there’s a specific problem you’re experiencing, please create a separate post with the details and let me know here once you’ve posted it. If it’s an issue you’ve already reported, feel free to point me to that thread instead.

I’ll take a look and, where appropriate, check its status with the product team and help with any troubleshooting or next steps I can.

    Best,
    Anshul Saini

it would be better to get rid of known bugs before having new features. still need downgrading to 27.9.1 to be able to open images from lightroom in photoshop.

    Hi @helmuth97779303,

I understand the frustration of having to stay on Photoshop 27.9.1 just to keep your Lightroom > Photoshop workflow working, especially after subsequent Photoshop updates have been released.

The team has been testing a fix for this regression, which will fix Lr > Edit in Photoshop, Open as Layers, and Smart Object workflows with Denoise-edited RAW files.

The fix is not yet available in the current public release, so please continue using 27.9.1 for now as a reliable workflow.

I’ll post an update on the main thread once the fix is available in a public build.

I appreciate your patience while we get this resolved.

    Best,
    Anshul Saini

All user, like me, don’t need AI always. There should be a native option to switch AI OFF and ON as and when required. Just hiding it in taskbar etc. is not what should suffice. Its an unnecessary loading on the CPU / GPU when not being used. Pass this on to the product development / product experience team(s)

    Hi @TusharBhagwat,

Thanks for your feedback. I understand the distinction you’re making.

I’ve shared this feedback with the Photoshop team. I’ve also noted your point about resource usage. The expectation isn’t just that AI entry points disappear from view, but that disabling the functionality should prevent the associated AI processing from being invoked when it isn’t wanted.

I don’t have a release date I can share at this point, but we’ll provide more information when it becomes available.

    Thanks again for the feedback.

    Best,

the new version of photoshop is annoying , causing system lags and highly irritating . WE DONT WANT AI ASSISTED EDITING 😡.CPU/GPU strain caused by new background AI features, and explicitly request options to fully disable Generative AI / Contextual Task Bars natively.

    Hi @Whimsical_smarts872d,

Thanks for the feedback. I understand that you would prefer to use Photoshop without the AI-assisted editing features and would like an option to disable them.

You can hide the Contextual Task Bar from Window > Contextual Task Bar if you don't want it displayed in your workspace. However, I also want to separate that preference from the system lag you're reporting, because we shouldn't assume that the AI features are responsible for the CPU/GPU usage without looking at what Photoshop is doing when the slowdown occurs.

    Could you please share:

    • Help > System Info > Copy and paste the information here.
    • What operation are you performing when the lag occurs, for example, opening files, painting, transforming, zooming/panning, switching documents, or simply leaving Photoshop idle?
    • Whether Task Manager shows unusually high CPU or GPU usage while Photoshop is sitting idle with no operation running.

I've noted your feedback that you would like a native option to disable AI-assisted/generative features rather than simply hiding individual UI elements. I'll pass that feedback along separately from the performance investigation.

    Best,
    Anshul Saini

Enhance Edge sounds really useful, especially when working with hair, fur, or objects with tricky edges. I’m also curious to try GPT Image 2 directly in Photoshop and see how well it handles edits from text prompts. It’s great to see these updates alongside fixes for existing issues!

I’m especially interested in trying Enhance Edge because cleaner selections can make a big difference when working with hair, people, and objects against complex backgrounds. GPT Image 2 also looks like a useful addition for quick edits and generating ideas without constantly switching between tools. I’m looking forward to seeing how well these features perform in real-world projects.
