Photoshop 27.7 Is Live! Faster Performance, Smarter AI, and Cleaner Workflows

Photoshop 27.7 brings smarter performance, deeper AI flexibility, and smoother everyday workflows, so you can stay focused on creating, not managing complexity. This release sharpens how Photoshop responds to your hardware, gives you more control over AI‑powered tools, and streamlines common tasks to keep documents cleaner and faster. The result is a more responsive, flexible experience that supports both quick edits and deep creative work.

 

What’s new

You can now use an on‑device AI model for the Remove tool, giving you the choice to process object removals locally without relying on the cloud. Sharing and ideation also get a boost with direct integration between Photoshop and Firefly Boards, making it easier to move from creation to moodboarding and comparison in one flow.  On top of that, managing your account is simpler with a Unified Account Menu right inside the Edit workspace, alongside several workflow and performance improvements across the app.

 

Enhancements you’ll notice

The Save for Web dialog has been refreshed with a modern, more consistent interface. File handling gets more flexible with new preferences that let you open JPEGs as regular layers and start new documents without a default background layer. Behind the scenes, performance has been improved by reducing telemetry overhead, and Canvas HUD diagnostics have been moved to the View menu for a cleaner canvas and better discoverability.

 

Fixed issues — thanks to you!

  • Hue/Saturation ranges now update correctly when selecting prominent color presets from the Properties panel.
  • Fixed the inability to launch Photoshop versions 26.2 and 25.12.1 at the same time on Windows.

How to update

Open the Creative Cloud desktop app and update Photoshop to the latest version to start exploring everything in v27.7.

      Hi, could you clarify what exactly “Canvas HUD diagnostics” refers to? I can’t find anything by that name in the View menu, and I don’t recall such a feature existing there before, unless it was somehow related to Help > System Info. I also searched for the term online, but the only relevant results seem to be this announcement and the corresponding “What’s New” page.

      Regarding the “telemetry overhead”, does this refer to Photoshop’s anonymous usage/diagnostic data collection, such as the “Help make Photoshop better” option?

      Too bad on-device Remove model requires at least 14 gigs of VRAM (I have an NVIDIA laptop GPU with ‘only’ 8 gigs of VRAM). Is there any hope that some more optimized version of this model will be available in the future?

      Cumplo con los requisitos de hardware para usar un modelo de IA integrado en el dispositivo para la herramienta Eliminar pero solo me sale activado la opción en la nube, la del dispositivo me sale desactivado. Alguien puede ayudarme?

      Mi hardware es:

      -64gb de ram.

      -2Tb de almacenamiento ssd.

      -gráfica nvidia RTX4090.

      -Cpu AMD Ryzen 7900x 12 core processor

      Encontre la solución, ir a preferencias/procesamiento de imagen/herramienta quitar, cambiar de mas estable a mas rapido. Solucionado!

      re: device AI model for removal tool. 

      where can I find some detailed information about how the device model differs from the cloud model? in my particular case, I’m curious if the device model is still gimped when editing boudoir photos like the cloud model is. 90% of the time when I try to remove a blemish or tattoo with the cloud model, it fails because of “community guidelines” as if it sees flesh and gets scared. I’m assuming the device model will be better at avoiding this?
       

      EDIT: welp nevermind, already failed when trying to remove a bruise. ugh.
