CC libraries is changing link file names when packaging a file

I'm having trouble with CC Libraries changing the names of links when packaging an illustrator file. I've already been using the method of having to duplicate an asset within the library assets to make sure the name of the asset in the library isn't changed to 'Artwork 1', which isn't ideal as I have to test and do this more than once sometimes. I need my assets to retain their assigned names when packaging a file that uses Adobe CC library assets as I work in a large team and we absolutely cannot have these random named assets being outputted!

I am eagerly following this thread as my team and I are experiencing this same frustration. When dealing with large volumes of files we need to package this unwatned renaming of links makes Libraries almost unuseable

Dear @Susan36055564a9up,

The Illustrator team got back to me, and they will look into it. I created a task internally on their end to make sure it doesn't fall through the cracks, and also to get automatic updates on it. If I hear any relevant news, I'll let you know. Thank you for your patience.

Dear @Susan36055564a9up,

I was able to reproduce the behavior you described, so I will go ahead and reach out to the right parties to get further guidance on how to proceed. I will provide an update as soon as I hear back from them.

I hav ethe latest iOS and the most up to date versions of the apps in CC.
The steps are as follows:
1. I create a master graphic in illustrator, check its the correct colour breakdown, click add graphic button, name it, add it to a group.
2. Then I have to duplicate it and delete the duplicate sometimes twice so that when I drag a copy to my artboard it retains the name I have given it. This in itself is super annoying to have to do every time, why can't the software honor the name I give it first time? This also needs to be sorted in the next upgrade.
3. When I'm finished with my document and I package it for filing the names of the links that have come from the CC lbrary turn to very long nonsensical names and not the names I have given them.
4. I have tried this also with websafe naming and it makes no difference, the same thing happens.
5. I work with a large team and we absolutely cannot have all of these nonsensical assets, it complete;y negates the usefullness of using CC libraries.
I am not alone, all of my team have the same experience and I see from the wider Adobe community that this is an ongoing issue.
Please plesse please have the developers fix this. Thankyou.

Hi @Susan36055564a9up,

  1. Could you provide the steps you follow when this happens?
  2. What version of Creative Cloud and Illustrator are you using?
  3. Do you know if there are others in your team experiencing this as well?
