Error message: AI Edits Storage Issue

Hello, 

I have been experiencing a big bug  in my Lightroom catalog. I have this message every time I open my catalog : “Lightroom has encountered an issue updating AI edits. Futur AI edits may not be saved and could be lost.” 

I followed the recommended steps when I clicked the “learn more” button but nothing has changed. 

I have many issues linked to this error such as no successful backups made since a week, every edits made with AI such as removal, denoise, and masking have disappeared. When the AI update button is lit up on a photo to update a mask or denoise for example, it does not work. As soon as the update is over, the button is yellow again. On some masks applied previously, I have the exclamation point in the warning triangle, I cannot update them as well. Furthermore, everything linked to the AI generative removal is lost too and cannot be updated. Also, when I close Lightroom and I want to do a backup, an error message pop up saying that “Lightroom Classic has encountered a problem and needs to close”. 

I checked I have not use my AI credits. It might be due to the TAHOE 26.2 update on Mac and the new version of Lightroom. 

In the mean time I have created a new catalog for the work I need to do quickly but this issue really impacts my workflow and efficiency. If anyone has an idea or has encountered the same issue, please le me know. I am out of option right now. I am waiting for an update from Adobe or to be contacted by a technician.

AMD - Windows system - Same problem - not saving modifications - for about 6 weeks. Adobe Customer Support is not responding to emails. Hope this gets solved soon. Carli

Hola, estoy experimentando el mismo problema.

Todos los ajustes realizados con herramientas de IA no se están guardando, especialmente la herramienta Quitar (Q) y las máscaras generadas con IA. Cuando vuelvo a abrir el archivo, todas las modificaciones que realicé aparecen con un ícono de advertencia. Intentar actualizarlas no las restaura. Las selecciones y máscaras generadas desaparecen: la capa sigue apareciendo, pero está completamente vacía. Cada vez que intento actualizar un ajuste de IA, el botón vuelve a ponerse amarillo, como si la actualización nunca se hubiera completado.

Actualmente estoy trabajando en macOS Sonoma 14.4 con la versión más reciente de Lightroom, por lo que no parece ser un problema aislado de un sistema específico. Este problema está afectando seriamente mi flujo de trabajo.

¿Alguien ha encontrado alguna solución o ha recibido una respuesta oficial de Adobe?


Hello, I am experiencing the same issue.

All AI-based edits are not being saved, especially the Remove tool (Q) and AI-generated masks. When I reopen the file, all the modifications I previously made show a warning sign. Updating them does not restore the edits. The selections and AI-generated masks disappear — the layer remains visible, but it is completely empty. Every time I try to update an AI edit, the button turns yellow again, as if the update was never completed.

I am currently working on macOS Sonoma 14.4 with the latest version of Lightroom, so this does not appear to be limited to a specific system version.

This issue is seriously impacting my workflow. Has anyone found a solution or received any official response from Adobe?

I have also been having this problem for the last 72 hours started maybe Wednesday night Ish I can’t open a new catalog I can’t optimize my catalog. There’s an error or a bug in my Lightroom and I cannot find it.

I saw a previous post saying that you can ask the chatbot to talk with an agent. You tap “agent” and he should let you communicate with one except if you are in my case. My account is linked to my school, so when I ask for an agent, the AI redirects me saying that I should contact my administrator, except that we have none at school
