For everyone's future reference, what is the best way to get something like this resolved?

Contacting Chat Support doesn't seem to work - the chat ends without anyone responding.

Posting publicly is the best/only way?

Chat should have also worked, but indeed this is the best way to denounce bad assets.

 

The issue with your asset is that the contributor made an error while submitting this data, and the quality control from Adobe did not detect that.

 

@Contributor1 will check the asset, and you will get your lost credit back. Meanwhile, you will need to search for a different asset, as this can't be corrected and the asset will get deleted.
