CLOSED - Known Issue 8/7: Adobe Express downloads stuck at 90% — recent reports and workaround

Hi all,

We've seen a recent uptick in reports of downloads getting stuck at 90% in Adobe Express, across PDFs, images, and other file types. This has come up in a few separate threads, so we're consolidating reports here to make it easier to track and update everyone in one place.

A couple of users have also found success with this specific workaround:
→ Turn off your browser's security features/extensions
→ Instead of duplicating the file, create a brand-new project and copy the file into that new project
→ Try downloading from there

If none of that resolves it, a HAR file captured while the download gets stuck would really help our team dig into what's happening. Here's a guide on generating one: https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/generate-har-file.html

We're actively looking into this and will keep this thread updated as we learn more.

Rose

Update: we've identified the root cause of the recent download/export issues getting stuck at 90% (and similar stuck-progress symptoms on video uploads). This is tied to an infrastructure issue affecting multiple export and import services, not something specific to your files or browser setup.

Our engineering team is actively working on this.

Final Update: The engineering team has deployed a fix across systems, so we should be back up and running! This thread will now be closed. Any future outages will utilize a new community thread!

It is a bulletin format that I have downloaded before that I have just been reworking and for some reason, it will not download this time. it is two pages.

Hello, I’m also having trouble trying to download my video projects. When I press the download button it just says “downloading” and never finishes, some have got to 90% done but then sits there for 20 minutes doing nothing.

    Troubleshooting steps I’ve followed:

    • Canceled the download and duplicated the file
    • Cleared my cache
    • Reduced sizes of images in video
    • Trued using another browser

Nothing seems to be working. Does anyone know any reason why this might be happening? I downloaded two videos just fine this morning before it stopped working.

    Thanks for your help!

Já experimentaste a solução alternativa que sugeri? No meu caso, descarregar como JPG, abrir na aplicação «Foto» e, em seguida, guardar como PDF funciona como solução.

    SAME problema aqui

Running into the exact same issue today. I’ve tried duplicating the file, saving as 720p, and refreshing the browser and NOTHING works. The file in question is only 50 seconds long so file size shouldn’t be an issue. This is for a social post that needs to be live in about an hour so this is incredibly frustrating considering this has been an ongoing problem for YEARS.

I’m unable to download files from both the web application and desktop app. They are taking forever to get to 90% complete but then they just hang there until the download ultimately fails. I’ve tried other file types, lowering the quality, and restarting with the same results.

I’m experiencing this problem with multiple documents, both the app version and in a browser (Edge). Documents I just downloaded successfully yesterday suddenly aren’t downloading today. I find that for my purposes, downloading as a JPG, opening it in Photo, and then saving as a PDF works as a fix. Still dumb that this issue seems to have been reported for years in this community and hasn’t been solved.

I am also having this same issue, and I’m on a tight deadline. I’ve spent the last 72 hours working on a project. This is maddening.

I relate to the stress of a tight deadline! I couldn’t export a mostly text-based PDF of 8 pages for th past 4 hours. I attempted HEC_DK_ISC’s suggestion of trying on MS Edge and instead of exporting PDF for regular documents, I exported PDF for printing and somewhow that worked.

I had to copy it into a new project first.

I am stuck in the moras that is the 90% dead-in-the-water issue. No changes to the document, its length, being original or unoriginal, security enacted/deactivated, nothing is working that will allow me to translate a Spanish document to English. Given this issue is not new to Adobe, one would have hoped that by now - a year-plus later - the issue would have been resolved.  I use Windows 11 and have tried using Edge and Chrome, SOSDD. Any new and original ideas GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

I solved this issue in MS Edge by the following:

    1. I turned off the browser security features as recommended.
    2. I duplicated the original document, not as another standalone document, but into a new document in a NEWLY CREATED PROJECT. (Just duplicating the document didn’t work.)

Then I was able to download without a problem.
This is bad bug and should be fixed by Adobe ASAP.

Thanks for this tip. Not sure why or how it works as it didn’t necessarily work on my first try but 4 hours later it worked!
