Keyboard shortcuts completely stopped working in Adobe Express

All keyboard shortcuts have completely stopped working in Adobe Express.

This includes Ctrl+C (Copy), Ctrl+V (Paste), Ctrl+D (Duplicate), Ctrl+Z (Undo), as well as the Delete key. None of these keyboard commands work while editing a design in Adobe Express.

The keyboard itself works normally in Windows and in other applications, so this issue appears to be specific to Adobe Express.

I have tested the issue in:

  • Google Chrome
  • Google Chrome Incognito mode
  • Microsoft Edge

The problem occurs in all three cases.

I also tested the same keyboard shortcuts outside Adobe Express, and they work normally. Mouse-based commands inside Adobe Express continue to work, but keyboard commands do not respond.

This makes Adobe Express essentially unusable for my normal workflow, since basic actions such as deleting, copying, duplicating, pasting and undoing cannot be performed using the keyboard.

Platform: Windows
Browsers tested: Google Chrome, Chrome Incognito, Microsoft Edge
Product: Adobe Express Web

Please investigate this as a possible keyboard/input issue in the Adobe Express editor.

    Hello everyone!

The team was able to pinpoint the problem, you all should be able to refresh Express (I still recommend clearing cache/cookies and restarting your browser just in case) and use keyboard shortcuts again!

THANK YOU so much for your patience,

    Rose

it worked for a minute; now the adobe express web app doesn’t load at all. it says that my browser is not supported. i’m using a current browser, no weird extensions, and have cleared cache & cookies.

This has been happening for the at least the last week for me. No “workarounds” have helped me with my issue, and it’s frustrating to have become so used to these shortcuts and now they’re unavailable making my workflow a bit slower.

Dear all, i've been running into this problem for a little while now (3+ weeks). Now, after a lot of headaches, i found this solution (thanks to @Rose DV's suggestion) for Adobe Express on Edge:

I went into the settings (three dots top right>Settings), and then to ‘Accesability’. On that tab, scroll down to ‘Keyboard’. The first setting, called ‘Navigate pages with a text cursor’ (note: my settings are in Dutch so the translation might be a bit off), was turned off for me. After turning it on, all shortcuts seem to work again.

Not sure if this is a permanent fix, but please try and let @Rose DV know if it works ;)

been getting this same issue since yesterday afternoon. Getting it on all projects

this started happening to me a few days ago. the adobe express web app is no longer catching keyboard shortcuts like cmd-z (undo), backspace (delete), and cmd+ (zoom in), cmd-(zoom out), and the cursor arrows (nudge or move objects), among others. it is not intermittent, and occurs consistently for me across all files (not just one presentation or project).

the keyboard shortcuts were working fine last week and through this past weekend, but i began encountering the issue around monday night or so. resetting the site settings does not fix the issue with chrome and opera. unfortunately, i cannot install firefox for reasons beyond my control, so having to use menu and UI controls has come with a pretty steep decline in my productivity 😕

a quick thing i just remembered: i’m pretty sure that adobe express was previously (consistently) redirecting me to new.express.adobe.com - but now the adobe website is sends me to express.adobe.com by default, and that’s where i’ve been running into problems with keyboard shortcuts.

i just loaded the “new” site and shortcuts seem to be working again!

    Hi all -

Our team is working on this issue, though it seems intermittent for most users. Once we know more about what else the team needs for troubleshooting, we will ask you here for help!

For now, two workarounds to try that have worked for some:

    1. Use Firefox - it seems that Chrome/Edge and sometimes Safari have run into this issue, but Firefox has remained the browser with the most success.
    2. Go into ‘site settings’ and reset the permissions to default and then reload Express.

If either workaround works, please let us know as well, as every bit of info helps!

ONE QUESTION: are you seeing it across all projects, or just presentations?

Same! I tried the site refresh and it worked for an evening. I’m on a Dell using Chrome.
