Aspect ratio distortion when reference image used

I was try to make some cool images. I liked one of the image that firefly created. Then i used it as reference photo and continued. After all, i changed the aspect ratio of the images but something went wrong. Firefly not only changed the canvas size, it also broke the original proportion of the photo. I mean it stretched the image. Not much but distinctly noticeable.
