content of style reference is used instead of solely the style

Hello,

I am using firefly for creating storyboard images for quite a long time since it was released.

i use a STYLE reference image (pencil drawing of a room) for converting every other image i upload in the COMPOSITION area into a pencil drawing. so far it was working very well.

a few month ago, the generator started to merge the CONTENT of the STYLE references into the images, which is really annoying. imagine an aerial view of a city  from google earth you just want to have as a pencil drawing. NOW you have the curtains or windows from the style image merged into the aerial view of the city. wow- completely useless!
PLEASE FIX THIS!
even when i switch the model to FF3 etc., it won't work. slider settings also don't make a difference. It was just fine a few months ago and really a power tool, but now it is just a pain!

Thank you!

Hi @coopercopter!

Sorry about the frustration. I tried one of your images in the Gemini 2.5 Flash model and got the following result

Thanks,

Still not working. Firefly Image 3 sometimes gets the hang of it but FFI 4 / FFI4 Ultra can't separate and nearly always halucinates the style content into the final image. It is really a pain!

Thank you for getting back!

These are the style references I use. 99% of the time the content of the style is rendered into the final image, regardless which images I use for composition. I tried various slider settings. In the past you could just set both sliders (composition + style) to maximum and you were ready to go and had perfect results: just a photorealistic image converted into a drawing with a few adjustments.

For example if you use a photorealistic image of a power generator as composition, choose on of the above drawings as style, set both sliders to max (or whatever value) and prompt :"storyboard sketch: power generator", you will get people rendered in the image. There weren't any people in the composition image and I didn't mention them in the prompts.

It ist just broke unfortunately. It was working so well a few months ago...

Thanks for sharing the images. Could you fill these images with bold and bright colors, and see if Firefly is reading them as structure reference?

Let us know how it goes.

Hello @coopercopter,

Thank you for your message. That is odd.

Can you please upload the reference images so I can test with them? What prompt are you using?

Thanks,
