Firefly boards deleted my boards

I created a Boards project with five artboards, periodically closing tab in my browser and reopening Boards to confirm things were being saved; they were.  I proceeded to make changes to these boards and add five more to the project.  When I went to close the tab for the night it gave me the following warning:

I exported the boards as PDFs and closed the tab.  When I reopened it, the original five artboards were there, but the changes and additions were gone.  The generations are still in the History panel, which is better than nothing, but it will take a lot of time to recreate the artboards by copying text from the PDFs. Not sure that I'll bother.

I'm always suspicious of cloud apps that don't provide the ability to positively save your work, or even give an indication that the work has been saved.  This is why.

I can’t edit the post above but I’ll amend it:

I was able to successfully copy and paste all the elements from TAB A, BOARD A v001 into a newly created BOARD A v002 in another browser tab, which then saved successfully.  Nice to know there is some recourse for future saving mishaps.

Hi @Am_I_Lame?

I’m really sorry to hear about your experience. Losing your changes like that is incredibly frustrating—especially after checking to make sure your work was being saved. I understand how important it is to feel confident that your projects are safely stored, and not having a clear “save” button or indicator can be stressful.

While it’s good that some of your work was still in the History panel and your PDFs, we know it shouldn’t be this hard to recover everything. Your feedback about clearer saving and confirmation methods really matters, and we’ll make sure it gets shared with our team.
While I personally do not close the browser immediately when working on web-based apps, as pictures and videos take some time to sync to the cloud. It's always a good idea to leave the browser open for 5 minutes so that everything syncs, and then close it.

Thanks.

I just discovered Firefly Boards the other day (what a cool product!), created a Boards project - let’s say BOARD A - and had a similar experience as @Am_I_Lame? One difference is that I did NOT periodically close the browser tab and re-open the project to see if it was saving the changes, I just kept on working in - let’s say TAB A.  I too created five artboards in my project, each with a number of contents in them (photos, shapes, text).  When I went to share the link with some colleagues I clicked on the link to see what it would do… to my surprise and dismay there were only three artboards and each missing nearly all their contents, except the first few photos I dropped into them.

With BOARD A still intact in TAB A I exported each of the five artboards to jpg and pdf so I have at least a record of my work.  I chose “Cancel” when that “Leave Site” dialog popped up, for fear of losing work.  When I go to another browser tab and visit my Firefly Boards dashboard to view all the Boards projects (only two of them), I see a thumbnail of the BOARD A incorrect three artboard project, open it and indeed it is only the three artboards.

Then back in TAB A I thought maybe renaming the project (let’s say BOARD A v001) would kick it into gear.  No luck.  In the Boards dashboard I see the renamed BOARD A v001 but it’s still the three artboards.  Opening has the same result.

Now, in the dashboard when I click on the BOARD A v001 project it says “Oops!  Its looks like Firefly Boards can’t direct you to this location currently.” 😐

I still haven’t closed TAB A but I’m not going to continue working on the project.  I love the features in this product but this is a disappointing bug that sadly makes me apprehensive to use it again, or recommending it to my colleagues.  Is this still considered a beta product?

I’m using Windows 11 Pro, Chrome Version 147.0.7727.117
