Issue with Adobe Firefly: Composition References Not Functioning as Expected

Hello Adobe Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue with the "Composition References" feature in Adobe Firefly. Over the past few days, I have noticed that reference images are not being applied correctly, and the generated results do not follow the provided prompts. Despite adjusting the prompts and trying different reference images, the tool completely ignores the composition references or produces unexpected results.

I have already checked for transparency issues in the images and tried using different browsers, but the problem persists. This is affecting my workflow, particularly on sensitive design projects.

I would appreciate any guidance on temporary solutions or updates on whether this issue is being addressed. I am also happy to provide further details if needed.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I am locking this thread as it references an old issue. There is a new issue in Model 4 related to composition references not being followed. That thread is located in: Problems with composition references not being followed since the release of model 4 [merged thread].

Yes here is the example. You yourself can test on your images. It is completely broken. Something in an update maybe. Please rollback whatever changes were done. This was a HUGE part of my design process to get the required stock images I wanted in specific angles.

I second this completely. As if the Composition reference and style references are completely broken.
This feature was so handy to create similar images now it is useless. Hope this gets retracked and we get the power of compostion and style reference back.

Hello @tutorialtime,

Thank you for your message. I am sorry you are having this problem.

Can you please share your reference image and some of the prompts you have tried?

Thanks,

I'm having the exact same issue, it's infuriating. Every single follow-along tutorial makes it look like you can just upload a bit of black text as a composition reference and then ask firefly to make it out of ice-cream or marble or whatever but.... it just completely ignores the composition reference. Have tried all different aspect ratios, picture formats, just does nothing.

Hey @defaultmccu81zr3o77
Something that I have noticed and had to pay attention to is the detail of the ref image.
for example, I have been playing around w making moustaches. Firefly really struggles w making variations of moustaches.

So I have had to generate a generic image of a cat for example. Then I would have to put on an extra large moustache on the image in order for Firefly to pick up the specific detail.

the point I am attempting to make is to ensure and make sure that the details that you want to highlight.

Part 2
Word order is so important. I really cannot emphasis the importance of word order w the Ref Image.
Cat Example
Cartoon tabby cat character,
take this image and use Photoshop to add the details to the image (keep the tab open)
Using the tab/ seed, i would then add the cat w the extra large moustache in Ref Image
Prompt: Cartoon tabby cat character, w large moustache and beard, on white background

A bit of a long explaination; however, I do find that these extra details help.

Here is an example of the structural reference (composition reference) being ignored, despite the strength slider being maxed out.

Hi @defaultmccu81zr3o77 ,

On your last example, I think maybe the style reference and composition reference images are switched.  Please swamp them and see if that is closer to what you are looking for.

See that I tested it with another composition, it still doesn't work, I'm already used to the tool and have been using it since its launch, this problem has been happening to me for approximately 3 weeks, I've tried using another Adobe account in another browser and the problem persists, can you help me?
