Thanks for flagging this , you’re absolutely right.

I tested it on my end and saw the same behavior. When ‘Use Google Search’ is turned on, the image generates in 1K even if 2K is selected.

We've logged a bug on this issue and the product team is currently investigating. Will share updates as soon as I have them.
