not sure why i have run out of credits with only generating a few videos this month

Not exactly sure which plan you are on; each plan is different on how credits are used.
Each model uses a different amount of credits as well in each app that you use. 
How long were the videos? What resolution were you using? Which model were you using? 

If you used PS to generate images, credits may have been deducted.
If you used Illustrator to generate images, credits may have been deducted.

and so on…
