Style Reference and Composition Image Not Working Together – Bug in Firefly

Hello,
I’ve been trying to apply a style reference (an image I generated in Firefly) to a custom composition image (a vertical black-and-white text/logo image I uploaded from my computer), but it does not work at all, even though I followed several official tutorials and previously had success with the same workflow.

Issue:
When I upload my composition image and apply a style reference, the output either:

  • Ignores the style completely, or

  • Generates a default image without applying my composition at all.

Details:

  • Composition image: high-res PNG, black text on white background

  • Style reference: colorful object generated inside Firefly

  • Tried with/without prompt, nothing helps

  • Tested in Safari (Mac) and also in Chrome – same issue

  • Cache cleared, incognito mode tested, same result

This seems to be a bug when combining uploaded composition images with style references. I believe Firefly struggles to interpret simple logo-type images as valid composition sources.

Please let me know if there's a workaround or fix coming.
Thanks!

Hi, I have the same issue. Using a style reference as I have always done, but it is not picking up on it at all.

Style reference not working, what could I be doing wrong? I am using it how I have always used it.

Hi idil_8875!

Sorry about the issue. Are you also using a composition reference? Which image model are you using to generate your images with Style reference?

Let us know. Happy to assist

Thanks
