Third-party video models fail to start while Firefly Video works

Third-party video generation models in Adobe Firefly are failing to start.

I have tested the same simple text-only prompt with no uploaded reference images across multiple models.

Working:
Adobe Firefly Video Model

Not working:
Kling 3
Kling 3 Omni
Google Veo
Google Veo Fast
Gemini
Runway

When I press Generate with any of the third-party models, the Generate button/interface briefly flickers but no generation starts. There is no progress indicator and no video is produced.

The exact same simple prompt generates successfully when I switch back to Adobe Firefly Video.

I have reproduced the problem in Safari, Chrome and Opera, so it does not appear to be browser-specific.

My account shows 10,010 premium generative credits available.

Please check whether third-party/partner video model access is correctly provisioned on my account, or whether there is currently a backend routing/entitlement issue affecting partner models.

Reproduction steps:

  1. Open Generate Video in Firefly.
  2. Select a third-party model such as Kling 3 Omni.
  3. Enter a simple text-only prompt with no reference images.
  4. Press Generate.
  5. Interface briefly flickers but generation does not start.
  6. Switch to Adobe Firefly Video using the same prompt.
  7. Generation starts and completes normally.

      I have now also tested the new Firefly beta generation experience. Partner-model generation fails there as well with “Something went wrong. Please try again.”

      Adobe Firefly Video continues to generate successfully. Partner models fail through Generate Video, Boards and the new beta interface.

      Thanks for sharing the detailed information. Could you please let us know the approximate date, time, and timezone of a recent failed generation attempt.

      This information will help us correlate the requests in our logs and determine whether the issue is related to account entitlements, authorization, routing, or the third-party model provider.

      Quick update: I retested at approximately 18:20 BST (UTC+1) on 21 September 2026 and Kling 3 Omni successfully generated. I then tested Veo using the same simple prompt and that also generated successfully.

      I haven't changed any browser, extension or account settings since providing the previous failed screen recordings.

      It therefore appears that whatever was preventing third-party model requests from starting has now cleared. As the issue persisted across multiple browsers/accounts previously, I'd still appreciate confirmation if you can identify anything in the logs relating to entitlement, authorization or routing that changed.

      I am aware of the reported 2,500-character prompt limit for Kling Omni. This does not appear to be the cause in my case. I reproduced the issue using the text-only prompt “A red ball rolls slowly across a wooden table. Static camera.” with no reference images. The prompt successfully generates with Adobe Firefly Video, but generation does not start with Kling 3, Kling 3 Omni, Veo, Veo Fast, Gemini or Runway.

      Thank you for providing an example of your prompt. Kling, Veo have worked for me. 
      Will escalate the issue.

       

      Steps to take
      This behaviour has been caused by interference from browser extensions in the past (such as ad blockers). Can you try in private browsing/incognito mode or in another browser as a test?

      Could you create a full screen video of your workflow showing us what is happening? This would help considerably.

      Which model(s) are you using?
      Consider clearing cache, cookies, and using a different browser.

        Thanks for escalating this.

        I've reproduced the issue again using a minimal text-only prompt in a private/incognito browser session with extensions disabled.

        The prompt used was: “A red ball rolls slowly across a wooden table.”

        Adobe Firefly Video successfully starts and completes generation using this prompt. However, when I change only the model, third-party video models fail to start.

        I have reproduced the issue with Kling 3 Omni, Veo and Gemini. The interface briefly flickers after pressing Generate, but no generation starts and no credits are deducted.

        Prior to the private-browsing test I had also reproduced the behaviour in Safari, Chrome and Opera.

        I am aware of the reported Kling prompt-length limit; this test prompt is deliberately extremely short and uses no uploaded images or video.

        I have attached a full-screen recording demonstrating the working Firefly generation followed by the failed third-party generation under otherwise identical conditions.

        Please let me know if you need any additional diagnostic information from the account or browser session.
