I've encountered a weird rendering issue with the advanced render engine.

When using the Effra CC VF typeface, certain glyphs appear like this:

I'm using version 25.0.1 on MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1

I am having the same problem with Monserrat Fonts as well. I am running the latest version of AE (25.50 Build 4) on Sequoia 15.6. Does anyone have a solution?

It's been almost a year since this was posted, at least give us some work around for it. @nishu_kush

Is there any update on that issue? We encountered the same problem with the font inter.

Hi there,

I can replicate the issue with the font Inter at my end as well. The issue is still under investigation. Sorry for the trouble. Stay tuned for updates.

Thanks,
Nishu

Per the posts by @nishu_kush and @seth-a-tron, changing the Status of this issus to Investigating.

Hey Nishu & Seth, thanks for looking into the issue!

- Effra CC VF is installed from Adobe Fonts.

- I'm on MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1

Here is a project file, it only contains a comp with a text layer (using Effra), using the advanced 3D renderer.

Thanks,

Thanks for getting back, Onno.

As confirmed by Seth, we can see the issue on our end as well. It is under investigation. We'll let us know as soon as we've an update.

Thanks,
Nishu

We've been able to repeat very similar behavior with other fonts (that happened to have oddly overlapping paths) and we are looking into it.

It could be a font specific issue. Is it a third-party font or you installed it from Adobe fonts? Are you on macOS or Windows? Could you share the project file with us to test on our end?

Looking forward to your response. Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.

Thanks,
Nishu
