Add/Sceen mode darkens image.

Hi all,

some strange problem occured recently using After Effects 25.2.2. When i try to overlay Footage (Gold Particles on black background) using add or screen mode for example., the Black part of the Footage is darkening the layers below. No 3D layers involved. Did anything change recently in how those modes work?

Hi David! Thanks for your response. I think i just found out what the issue was. It only happens in 32bit and works fine now, when "Clip to Output Black" is on.

Hey @BenterA,

 

Nothing has changed with blend modes or the Levels effect in 25.2. Would you mind uploading a screen recording of you going through the process? It would be great if you could show your entire UI and go through the process step-by-step, so we can see exactly what's happening.

Ok, seems like the added Levels Effects causes the issue. Is this a bug or a new thing? I am pretty sure i have put layers in add or screen mode before with Effects (Levels/Curves) added to the layer. Doesn`t seem to work anylonger?
