AE 24.5.0 MacOS Unable to SAVE / SAVE AS

How consistently does this problem occur for you? You said it sometimes happened and other times saved fine?

I have a couple suggestions for things you could try:

1. It might be a permissions issue if it is based on the location you are trying to save to. Could you check that the folder you want to save to is set to allow for Read & Write access? Change permissions for files, folders, or disks on Mac - Apple Support

2. If it is an issue around space and processing, you could try clearing your cache the next time you run into this issue and then try saving to see if that works. Edit -> Purge -> All Cache...

3. Other things to try that come to mind are going to your Preferences -> Startup & Repair and trying "Start in Safe Mode..." This starts the application with default preferences. If that resolves the issue, it is possible something in the preferences files is causing an issue for saving.

4. Last suggestion would be to uninstall and reinstall incase something was setup incorrectly in that process by the installer. Maybe this started after a recent update?

Hey Jessica,

thank you for your help! After Effects does not save the file. Even when I try to SAVE AS in a new File. It seems that it worked, but there is no new File at all. The only option is, to Quit without saving. Otherwise AE will simply not quit. As you might have seen in my Video: I tried to: After Effects-> Quit After Effects -> Promt: Do you want to save? -> Yes : Nothing happens. no new saved file and AE is not quitting.

And now I am getting other strange problems which are also not new and seem to be relevant to this topic: If I try to import files and switch to another application while the Import dialogue box remains open, I can no longer press any buttons in the AE interface when I switch back to After Effects.
