AE, AME, Premiere stuck and splash screen on dynamic link not working, try this!

Hi. To all of you having AE, AME or Premiere stuck at app loading screen or dynamic link taking ages or not working at all, try DISABLING your network adapter when it happens. Let me know. This helps me, but it's crazy workaround. Not even starting apps as an admin helps now (it helped before), but disabling network adapter helps.

Few years old drivers. Everything works well with AE2019 except that one refuses to start normally 😕😕

From the file side, there are options for both Import and Export using the GPU in preferences. From the display standpoint, even if you're in Mercury Software mode, the GPU is still being used to render the final frame into the comp panel. If you're using an NVIDIA GPU there are a set of recent drivers that have been causing display and encoding corruption. So I'm just offering those as explanations for what you might be seeing.

How can GPU drivers corrupt CPU done preview in AE? And even more interesting question is how can that be translated into corrupted output from Media Encoder that is set to CPU render only....If you care to explain.

My ask of the beta was to see if it helped resolved your issue. If you can't, no problem. You may want check your GPU drivers if you are getting frame glitches.

...purging all cache solves that problem... but I cannot do that all the time, just to be sure final output would be fine.

I'm professional, I cannot work on beta software.

2019 work considerably better for me than 2024.  It feels faster, lighter, doesn't crash.

AE2024 has problems with video caching.. .sometimes it produces frame drops or similar glitches and that is visible in the final render / output, even thru Media Encoder. I don't recall AE2019 ever did that. And that's a serious issue for a new thread here. I don't have a time to check all video outputs, one by one, from start to finish, just to see if there is some glitch or drop somewhere.

Unfortunately not a lot we can do to support AE 2019 now. I think you're holding off on AE 2024 due to running into memory issues. You may want to try the AE 24.5 Beta build to see if that helps with the memory issues (there are specific fixes for some memory situations in the 24.5 Beta).

Hi, no firewall other than Windows 10 built in. Not blocking anything particular. And no, no problems with AE 2024, it starts normally as it should. AE 2019 hangs until I disable network adapter. It would start even if I do not disable network adapter but it takes around 5 minutes then. And then it doens't have a dynamiclink connection with Media Encoder when needed.

If needing to disable your network to get Adobe video applications to launch, I would double-check the network endpoints as detailed in this document:

Domains to be allowed for Adobe apps & services to function correctly

The hang is with AE 2019? Do you see the same hang with AE 2024?

The log file indicates that perhaps it was waiting for a network connection to the team projects servers, which may explain why turning off your network adapter is helping you. Do you have a firewall running that might be blocking traffic or some other network monitoring software running?
