AE and PR v25 - MOGRT glitch when animating Turbulent Displace "amount" property

  • Issue - When I animate the "amount" property for turbulent displace, when the effect is applied to a layer, the layer snaps to a transformed (literally position and scale) state exactly when the interpolation finishes.
  • Steps to reproduce -
    1.  Apply Turbulent displace to a layer in a comp that is readied to be exported as a MOGRT from essential graphics.
    2.  Animate the "amount". This happened for any values I tried, but lately I've been trying from 50 to 0 over about 1 second. Easing didn't seem to change anything.
    3.  Export the comp as a MOGRT
    4.  Place the MOGRT in a timeline in Premeire Pro v25.
    5.  The CTI won't reproduce the error, but when you scrub, play in the timeline, render the clip, or export media, the glitch will occur.
  • Expected result - A nice, wavy effect.
  • Actual result - The layer will fly off into an unpredictable transform change. It will sometimes shift over, and sometimes disappear (I assume just out of view).
  • Adobe After Effects version - AE 25.5, PR v25.5
  • Operating system - Happens on both Windows (11 Pro 26200.7019) and macOS (Sequoia 15.6.1)
  • GPU driver version - NVIDIA Studio Driver v581.57
  • Mac Hardware -  M1 laptop.
  • Comparative information
    • Glitch does not happen in v24 of the apps.
    • Glitch does not happen in the beta of the apps.
    • Glitch does not seem to happen when animating other properties, but I haven't tested that exhaustively. For sure animating evolution phase doesn't reproduce the glitch.
  • I'm uploading a simple AEP

Hi @marchowork, sorry to hear you're running into this.

This looks like an issue that was recently fixed, and you said you didn't experience the issue in the beta, which means that same fix would be in 25.6 of Premiere and AE, which just came out the other day. Make sure to update both before seeing if the issue is fixed!

Thanks,
- David, After Effects Engineering Team
