AE crashes computer when I click on any other program

Description of the Issue:
When editing in Premiere Pro, I use the "Replace with After Effects Composition" feature on a piece of footage. After Effects opens and allows me to make changes with no issue. However, when I try to switch back to Premiere, or click outside of After Effects (e.g., to the desktop, browser, or any other window), my entire computer either crashes or freezes for 3–4 minutes before displaying an error message and crashing the Adobe application.

This crash has occurred 100% of the time when using Dynamic Link for the past two months. I’ve created a complicated and slow workaround, but due to the volume of work I produce, I’d really like to find a proper fix.

Adobe After Effects Version:
25.2.0 (Build 131)
(Note: this issue has persisted across several recent versions)

Operating System:
Windows 11 Home

Processor:
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core, 3.70 GHz

Graphics Card:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. In Premiere Pro, use "Replace with After Effects Composition" on a clip
  2. Make edits in After Effects
  3. Click back into Premiere or any other open application

Expected Result:
Seamless transition back to Premiere or another program with no system instability

Actual Result:
System crashes or freezes for 3–4 minutes, followed by an error and After Effects crashing

Hey Rob,

Indeed, I am running Version 25.2.0 currently.  However, this issue has spanned several updates through both AE and Premiere
