AE regularly consumes all of my system memory

AE 2025 and 2026 will often (e.g. every 20 mins or so) tell me it cannot allocate memory and task manager shows it using all 128gb of RAM.  It seems to be irrelevant how complex the project is, the last crash I was simply animating the scale of a rectangle shape. I don't even need to be doing anything , simply being open will cause AE to consume all of the RAM my pc has. I have never encountered this before 2025/26 versions.

Adjusting memory preferences, clearing cache, disabling compressed frames, resetting preferences does nothing.

Having the exact same issues. 2024 worked like a charm, since version 2025 and 2026 i literally can`t work more than 20/30 min straight without purging memory or restarting. Definitely something software related. Happens even with the most simple projects, with a few shapes or images. Just unacceptable issues at this point from Adobe.

    Hi real_5081,

thanks for the report. The fact that it happens even on a simple shape animation and while idle does point to a potantial memory leak. A few details to help us understand it better:

    1. Your OS version, GPU, and CPU.

    2. Any third-party plugins installed? As a test, try launching AE with plugins disabled (hold Shift while AE starts) and see if memory still climbs while idle.

    3. Does it happen on a brand new empty project with no layers at all?

A screen recording of Task Manager showing AE's memory climbing over time would also help engineering pin this down.

    Looking forward to your resposne.

    Thanks,

    Nishu
