AE26.2 localization error occurred
🐞 Bug Report – After Effects 26.2.1 UI Text Missing & Plugin Crash Issue

📌 Issue Summary
After updating to After Effects 26.2.1, several third-party plugins show missing UI text in the Effect Controls panel. In addition, interacting with certain plugin controls causes After Effects to crash.
The issue only affects plugins with localized or non-native English UI systems, while other plugins (e.g. BCC, some Red Giant modules) remain functional.
⚠️ Affected Plugins
- Red Giant (Trapcode / Universe / older Maxon components)
- Various localized/Chinese (translated) plugins
- Some legacy third-party plugins using custom UI systems
✅ Working Plugins (for comparison)
- Boris FX BCC plugins (working normally)
- Some fully updated plugins using native SDK UI
🔍 Steps to Reproduce
- Install After Effects 26.2.1
- Install third-party plugins (especially Red Giant or localized versions)
- Open Effect Controls panel
- Apply affected effect
- Observe:
- UI text missing or blank
- Dropdown/options not visible
- Click any affected UI control
- After Effects may crash immediately
❗ Expected Result
Plugin UI text should display correctly and all controls should be usable without crashes.
