After Effect Error: Code (A_Err_GENERIC) : Cinema 4D 2024 must be installed ( 0 :: 1)

Hello guys,

I have installed Cinema 4D Lite Add-Ons, but it appears to be error when I tried to open it. I have tried:

- Reinstalling After Effects 2025.1 (Including Add-Ons)
- Restarting My Macbook Pro M2 Max
- Adding Cineware to Layer, but it didn't work.
- Checking After Effects Add-Ons on Creative Cloud app. It appears that Cinema 4D already installed. But I can't open in After Effects 2025.1.

Nothing works. Please help me. I attatch some of messages error.

I am using After Effects 2025.1 (newest version as per 17 November 2024) and Macbook Pro M2 Max.

    Maxon released C4D 2025 after we had already completed development of AE 2025 (25.0.1). AE 25.1, once it releases, will work with C4D 2025.

    Yes I have the same issues!! Why isn"t there a fix?

    Maxon does not know it! They say 'just install C4D 24'.. but why?

     

    I installed a fresh OSX with Adobe suite 2025 and Maxon C4d 25!

    Why do I need to install c4d 24 to use cineware ? Makes no sense.

    Adobe update the plugin or connection please!!

      Hi Jenkmeister,

      Yes, I mean 25.0.1 installed. I could open standalone app for Cinema 4D from Maxon App. But I could not open Cinema 4D Lite in After Effects Application.

      I don't understand by "standard location". When I reinstall After Effects 25.0.1, I check "Install Cinema 4D" and I think it is in standard location. Would you mind to give me standard location for MacOS?

      I think you probably mean you have 25.0.1 installed. In that case, can you see if you can open Cinema 4D as the stand alone applications, directly from the Finder (versus via After Effects)? And is it installed in the standard location?
