After Effects 2025 cannot import ProRes MXF OP1a files

I routinely render out Premiere projects as intermediate Pro Res MXF OP1a files for addition of motion graphics etc in After Effects. The new 2025 version of After Effects reports that  '****.mxf cannot be opened, may be in an unsupported fomat' with error code (86::1). This is true whether opening a previous After Effects project with such files already imported, or trying to import a brand new one in a fresh project. It appears to affect all my projects that use .mxf files in this way, including ones completed only last week using the 2024 suite.

I am running a Windows 10 PC (22H2) with 32GB RAM and an RTX 4090 graphics card.
