After Effects 25.2 +

I recently updated to the 25.2 version and I'm now having an issue which I never had previosuly with any other version.

I'm using the below.

Hardware:

Mac Mini M2

  • Apple M2 chip

  • 8-core CPU with 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores

  • 10-core GPU

  • 16-core Neural Engine

  • 100GB/s memory bandwidth

  • OS: Sequoia 15.5

The issue is when I updated After Effects intially to 25.2 it ran perfectly but when I close down my Mac for the day and restart it th next day and launch After Effects 25.2 I get these issues. (see attached below)

So I uninstalled and waited for an updated version 25.2.2. figuring the issue would be resolved but nope. Same issue with 25.2.2. Works after intial install but the next day the same re-occurring issue.

I have done every posted possible fixes and always the same outcome, I'm not even able to launch in "Safe Mode" at all.

There is no "Error Log" produced as it doesn't even open the program.

Does anyone know why this is happening on the new 25.2 versions?

Thanks

Rich

I've updated it to 25.3 version and no problems with that version.

Again all I did was just update it in the Creative Cloud app.

It's a personal one, no new apps or virus protection software. Nothing has changed on my system.

Not on any company or enterprise server.

The Adobe suite is installed on an external drive, as per my preference set up in the Creative Cloud options.

The many previous After Effects updates never had this issue, only when I updated to 25.2+ versions.

I reverted back to the 25.1 to be able to use it, there is no issues at all with that version.

Is your machine a personal one or something connected to a company/enterprise? Have you installed any other apps or virus protection like software recently? It seems as though something is happening during machine shutdown/startup which is changing the permissions on the install.

Hi Thanks for getting back to me really appretiate it.

No that is not what I did, I just clicked update "After Effects" in the Creative Cloud as per usual. I've been updating "After Effects" for the last 5 years with no issues. The Creative Cloud updated After Effects, launched it and it worked but as I said, once I shut my computer down and restart it the next day I get those errors and it doesn't allow me to open it anymore.

I found another user who had the same issue. Followed their solution and it didn't work.

https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/after-effects-metadata-browser-is-missing-and-cep-suit-couldn-t-be-loaded/m-p/11087775

So I tried one more time, I removed all the Adobe suite from my computer and installed fresh files and again it worked after the istallation but when I shut down and restarted my comupter the errors happended again.

So I'm not sure what to do here.

I suspect you've installed AE either as an administrator and are now trying to run it as a non-admin, or vice versa. The errors are indicating either the install is not complete and missing required components, or the user you're running as does not have access to the application components completely.
