After Effects Crash - HardwareBlitpipe Engaged

I was working on my project (AE2025) as usual while it gave the following error "After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <6636> <ae.blitpipe> <2> HardwareBlitpipe Engaged" and then it closed itself.

After that I couldn't open my project again. I can run the program in safe mode but my project gives the same error even in safe mode.

I checked previous entries and they are suggested to check up-to-dates in drivers, system etc, or reset preferences, or disable third party plug-ins. I did them all, everything is new and up to date, I reset preferences, I disabled all third party plug-ins.

Nothing changed or fixed. I was about to try re-install the app but I don't want to lose my ongoing projects.

Hi @shylush ,

In addition to what Nishu suggested, could you please upload a log by following these steps?

1. From the Help menu, click Enable Logging.
2. Restart AE and reproduce the issue.
4. Relaunch AE again and go to Help > Reveal Logging File.
5. Upload the "After Effects Log.txt" file from the "logs" folder

To keep the logs as clean as possible, make sure you don't do anything except reproduce the issue.

Thanks,
- David, After Effects Engineering Team

Appearently the crash reason has changed now (didn't realize before posting, sorrey). It says "After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <1744(Display Thread)> <panko> <4> DS::FindNearestMonitorIndexForWindow"

I couldnt find anything on this and I genuinely have no clue what it means.

Sorry to hear about the issue, shylush.

Can you try importing your project into a new blank project and see if that helps? If it doesn't, please share the project file here so that I can test it on my end. Feel free to share via DM if you prefer not to share it publicly.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,
Nishu
